- Typhoon Kristine maintained its strength as it moved along the ocean east of Aurora. Based on PAGASA's Tropical Cyclone Bulletin #12 today, October 23, 2024, the eye of Tropical Storm Kristine was spotted at a distance of 160 km East of Casiguran, Aurora.
- A pioneering member and fund-raising head of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ has testified in the Senate against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
- A top court in the US state of Georgia denied an appeal from Republicans over a decision to block a new rule that would have required poll workers to hand-count ballots. Voting rights activists strongly condemned the rule.
- Portland's Union Station, opened in 1896, is the oldest continuously operating passenger rail station on the US West Coast. It has been put up for sale.
- Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO, Mike Jeffries, and his partner Matthew Smith have been arrested and charged with running a prostitution and international sex trafficking business. Federal prosecutors said the men used force, fraud, and coercion to engage in "violent and exploitive" sexual acts.

- Ukraine's Prosecutor-General Andriy Kostin has resigned amid a draft-dodging scandal. Kostin said he took responsibility for a scandal in which thousands of disability certificates were issued based on fake documents.
- The MINI John Cooper Works F66 range was unveiled. Available in 3-door hatchback and cabrio, the new MINI JCW is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine producing 231hp of power. Mated to a double-clutch gearbox, it sprints from 0-100kph in 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 250kph.
