- In a radio interview, Atty. Stephen David insisted that Alice Guo is still in the Philippines, contrary to the announcement of Senator Risa Hontiveros in her privileged speech that Guo has already fled the country.

2024 NASCAR Cup Series - FireKeepers Casino 400

Michigan is the next stop for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series with the FireKeepers Casino 400 and this race replaced the carnage in Richmond with even more chaos.

After Ryan Blaney won Stage 1, the race was interrupted by a red flag due to inclement weather, and was forced to continue the next day. On Monday, the race continued with Todd Gilliland blowing a right-rear tire in turn 3 on Lap 107, followed by The Big One on Lap 115. Kyle Busch won Stage 2, and the climax came when Martin Truex Jr spun out on Lap 194, triggering overtime.

After the chaos in Michigan, Tyler Reddick wins the Firekeepers Casino 400 of the NASCAR Cup Series!

The next race is Daytona for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 on August 24, 2024. It's the penultimate battle before the playoffs.

-  The Philippines has reported its first new case of mpox, according to the PH Department of Health. According to DOH, the 10th lab-confirmed mpox case is a 33-year-old Filipino maile with no travel history outside the country but with close, intimate contact three weeks before symptom onset.

- Director Jojo Nones, cited for contempt by Sen. Jinggoy Estrada in the Senate Committee on Public Information hearing. Senator Estrada said that Jojo Nones denied that they offered money to be given to a charitable Institution because of the abuse done to Sandro Muhlach. But in the affidavit of Atty. Annette Gozon that they offered money.

- A magnitude 5.7 quake hits Pambujan, Northern Samar.

- Dindo has strengthened into a Tropical Storm as it heads north out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It was last spotted at a distance of 760km northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

- Emergency move to ease prison overcrowding in England activated as more rioters set to be jailed.

- Ted Baker will close the last 31 stores by Tuesday, putting over 500 jobs at risk.

- Ukraine aims to create a military buffer zone inside Russia. President Volodymyr Zelensky outlines his aims for the cross-border offensive.

- The NASCAR Clash pre-season exhibition race for 2025 will be held at the Bowman Gray Stadium this February 2nd, 2025.

- The Koenigsegg Jesko Attack has set a new Laguna Seca production car record with the lap time of 1m24.86s.

- The Halloween franchise is getting its own game with John Carpenter "intimately involved". Boss Team Games is involved in the making of two games based on the horror franchise.

- Former NU'EST member Kim Jonghyeon announced his plans to enlist in the military.

- French actor Alain Delon passed away at the age of 88.

FIA World RX 2024: World RX of Benelux

The 2024 FIA World RX's "Battle of Technologies" continues in Spa-Francorchamps for the World RX of Benelux. The drivers are back to their usual rallycross action after the long summer and Olympic breaks.

The first part saw Timmy Hansen's winless streak vanquished after winning the race with Ole Christian Veiby in 2nd and his brother Kevin in 3rd. The final part, meanwhile, saw domination for Johan Kristofferson as he edged out Kevin and Veiby to wrap up the Belgian campaign. As expected, the ICE side leads over the EV side following Kristofferson's recent win.

The next event is the World RX of Portugal this September 7 to 8, 2024.

DTM 2024: Nurburgring

DTM's 40th-anniversary celebration continues at the Nurburgring Grand Prix Circuit. The weather was wet at the beginning of the race and cloudy at the end. This is the true nature of the Nurburgring GP that the DTM drivers faced.

In the first part of the Nurburgring campaign that saw the drivers facing arduously wet conditions, Kelvin van der Linde in his Team ABT Sportsline Audi R8 survived all the way to the end and won the race, edging the likes of Mirko Bortolotti and Maro Engel. In the final part, which witnessed an accident between Rene Rast and Maro Engel, it was Kelvin van der Linde's turn to drive his Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 to victory.

After Nurburgring, Kelvin van der Linde is leading with 140 points, Mirko Bortolotti is in 2nd with 133 points, and Maro Engel is in third with 128 points.

The next race is at Sachsenring from September 5 to 8, 2024.

2024 Repco Supercars Championship - NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint

The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship continues with the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint. The drivers are returning to their usual racing action after the summer and Olympic breaks.

The first part saw Nick Percat fend off Chaz Mostert to win the race while Broc Feeney finished third. The second part saw a victory for Mostert amid the chaos Thomas Randle caused to Broc Feeney in the middle of the race. Brown and Bryce Fullwood round out the podium.

After Tasmania, Brown leads with 1980 points while Chaz Mostert is in 2nd with 1899 points and Broc Feeney is in 3rd with 1782 points.

Enduro season in the 2024 Supercars Championship begins as the next race is the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 in Melbourne this September 12-15, 2024.
