THREATS FROM NORTH KOREA: North Korea to shut down nuke site in May

According to the Cheong Wa Dae, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has vowed to shut down the country’s nuclear test site in May and open the process to experts and journalists from South Korea and the United States.

The move serves as a dramatic setup to Kim’s crucial nuclear negotiations with President Donald Trump that may take place in the next few weeks amid widespread skepticism on whether the North will ever fully surrender its nuclear weapons.

Kim made the comments during his summit with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Friday at a border truce village, where he also expressed optimism about his meeting with Trump, saying the US president will learn he’s “not a person” to fire missiles toward the United States, Moon’s spokesman Yoon Young-chan said.

Moon and Kim during the summit promised to work toward the “complete denuclearization” of the Korean Peninsula, but made no references to verification or timetables. Seoul had also shuttled between Pyongyang and Washington to set up a potential meeting between Kim and Trump, which is expected next month or early June.

“Once we start talking, the United States will know that I am not a person to launch nuclear weapons at South Korea, the Pacific or the United States,” Yoon quoted Kim as saying.

“If we maintain frequent meetings and build trust with the United States and receive promises for an end to the war and a non-aggression treaty, then why would we need to live in difficulty by keeping our nuclear weapons?” Yoon quoted Kim as saying.

F1 2018: Azerbaijan GP

The F1 2018 season continues at Baku for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and it has turned into one of the craziest races of this season, which is way beyond the drivers' predicament, not to mention the drama behind the scenes.

Valtteri Bottas leads the race but with just two laps to go, one of his wheels got punctured when it went across the debris caused by Kimi Rakkonen and Esteban Ocon and he was therefore out, costing his victory hopes. Then, Red Bull Racing's biggest fear came true when Daniel Ricciardo crashed behind Max Verstappen, knocking themselves out of the race. Sergey Sirotkin and Fernando Alonso got involved in the fender bender in the opening laps, leaving the Russian out cold and the Spaniard drove his way back to the pits even with one of the wheels went missing. What's even worse is when Romain Grosjean crashed through the wall following the safety car deployment that made the HAAS driver very angry.

After a chaotic race in Baku, Lewis Hamilton nailed his first win of the season while Raikkonen in second place and miraculously, Force India's Sergio Perez tasted his first podium finish since 2015 after placing 3rd.

Next race is at Spain on the 13th of May.

FIA Formula E S4: Paris

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship continued at Paris, France, and corner after corner, the action occurred at the French capital is what made the Formula E very exciting to watch wherever you are sitting at.

The race has becoming a smorgasbord of crashes and overtakes, not to mention the greatest hits in Paris are where Sam Bird crashes Lotterer's back in the final few corners and Daniel Abt's dramatic overtakes rival after rival, making the Paris ePrix very interesting to turn up the wick on the highest magnitude this electric street racing series has to offer.

After a series of overtakes and crashes the drivers pulled off in the city of Paris, Jean Eric Vergne from TECHEETAH got his balls killed by the pit crew once again because he won the race! He nicked this race's best lap time of 1:03.802 as well. Audi Sport's Lucas di Grassi placed 2nd and Sam Bird, following his reckless charge against Andre Lotterer, placed 3rd.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Next race is on Berlin on the 19th of May.
