Ever since this project started years ago, the MNL48 is established to become the Philippine sister group of Japan's biggest idol girl group AKB48 and throughout this four-month journey, we witness the numbers narrowed down from the top 200 to the top 48 and top 48 aspirants faced many challenges not to mention the arrival of new challengers that will put their talents to the test.
And now, here we are, the end is near for the search of the first generation and the top 48 aspirants are on the verge of success as the General Election will take place this April 28 and starting now, all votes are back to zero and users will vote only one Oshi until the 27th. If they're unsure about their choice, they can either change their Oshi until the deadline or stick with their choice to the very end.
As we are familiar with, those who are named as "Kami 7" will be given international training by AKS, the production company behind AKB48 and its sister groups. Also, whoever make it to the number one spot will be the "center girl" that will rise above all Oshis and become the poster girl of MNL48 worldwide.
Anyway, no time for explanations, on to what happened today. So far, the top seven of the week are, in descending order, Gabb, Tin, Trixie, Alice, Sheki, Eunice, and Abby. But the biggest surprise is the battle between last week's bottom seven and against the seven new challengers that the bottom seven are clashing against. Here's the thing, if the seven new challengers won the battle, they will overtake the bottom seven to become part of the top 48 but if the bottom seven wins, their positions are saved.
And with the margin of .27 percent, which is a close call of course, 74.96 vs. 74.69, the bottom seven managed to defeat the seven new challengers, saving their positions and their glory road to the general election begins.
With this week's top seven named and last week's bottom seven saved, the final fight to become "Kami 7" has just begun and users have until the 27th to vote one of their favorite aspirants. Until then, keep watching ITS SHOWTIME and MNL48 Online Update for more of your favorite aspirants.

Living the Oregon fantasy
A couple of days ago, me and my family went to the Oregon state, which is almost 200 miles south from Seattle, and while most people go to Oregon to unravel the nature from within, this state holds a very special place to our hearts because of Gravity Falls and Life Is Strange. It's so special, we went there to do some sightseeing and here are some of the things.
Before emerging through our Portland sightseeing, we spent our dinner at the Sho Authentic Japanese Cuisine. You will love their selection of delicious Japanese meals there, even sushi. After spending our dinner, eating Japanese meals, we rested at the Comfort Suites and the next day, we set off to what was becoming our wet day at Oregon.
We arrived at The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, The Grotto. Built since the early 1920's, The Grotto is a national Catholic shrine dedicated to Mary, Our Sorrowful Mother, which is a ministry of the Servite Friars – Order of Friar Servants of Mary. It's a great place to connect yourself spiritually through Mama Mary and Jesus and it's mostly visited by Christians, even Catholics.
We ventured outside The Grotto where you will find a place where they hold outdoor masses occasionally as well as the Marilyn Moyer Meditation Chapel where they held masses every day.
We rode the elevator to the top of The Grotto to see more holy places ever visited. There was the Mysteries mentioned from The Rosary as we know everyday, there's the monastery, there's a chapel, and then there's a shrine where, by such fate, there's a Filipino shrine standing beneath the Czestochowa, Lavang, and Guadalupe shrines. They called it Dambana, which is Filipino for "altar" and it features San Pedro, San Lorenzo Ruiz, and Our Lady of Dambana.
After our spiritual trip to The Grotto, we went to eat at Cartlandia, where you will find some outrageous meals for reasonable prices. As we got our tummies full, we went further around Oregon to find a scenic spot called the Vista House.
Here we are, Crown Point Vista House, the best view of the Oregon State is through that very spot. After our scenic spot at Crown Point, we are heading to our last stop which is the Multnomah Falls.
Just a 30-minute drive outside Portland, Multnomah Falls measures at a jaw-dropping 620ft. making it one of the best spots to look around the Oregon state. Now that's Mother Nature doing its beauty for the people.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed peeking at my pics on our tour around the Oregon state and I hope your fantasies will come across this wonderful US state someday if you are planning to make a vacation there.

Rampage (2018 film)
For those video game geeks who remember their childhood, they'd probably remembered the cult classic building-bashing video game called Rampage by Midway (now WB Games). The first game starred monsters such as George, Lizzie, and Ralph and what players do is destroy all buildings and eat humans. That was the goal of the Rampage games and while we really do miss the Rampage games, this movie adaptation wants viewers to remember the good old days of playing the Rampage game but that's what they want us to believe.
Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, and The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan, this film is loosely based on the cult classic video game series of the same name. In this film, Dwayne plays the role of a primatologist who teams up with an albino gorilla named George, who was been mutated into a giant monster by some top-secret experiment, as they are trying to save the world against heavily mutated beasts such as a wolf named Ralph and a crocodile named Lizzie.
Rampage (2018 film) |
The Rock pretty is no stranger to action-adventure flicks. He once trying to survive the powerful earthquake in San Andreas, exploring an unknown island in Journey 2, being a lifeguard in the Baywatch movie, and most famously, being a video game character in last year's Jumanji film, but in this monster movie, looks like his on-screen appearance got overshadowed by the monsters because this is what Rampage is all about. Seeing our memorable video game mutant monsters destroying cities like every monster movie you know, it really takes us back at the time you pair up with a buddy to play as their favorite monsters destroying the world, but even though is great to see the original Rampage monsters come to life in this film, this film is way too much exaggeration for an action thriller flick, underachieving for a movie based on a video game series, and downright scary to watch.
The producers are trying very hard to show the video game community if they still remember the Rampage games with this film but by such standards, it was good at first but it wasn't really make the cut to appeal the moviegoers and gamers alike.
Would Warner Bros want to bring back the Rampage video games? Well, after you saw this film, it's everybody's guess.
My rating: 3.4 out of 5.
