31 South Korean skiers were flown back home on a chartered flight. They were joined by 32 North Koreans, who were led by the North's vice sports minister including ten athletes who will compete in the Olympics.
They are a figure skating duo, two short track speed skaters and three athletes each in cross-country and alpine skiing. They will first go to the athletes' village in PyeongChang to complete their registrations.
After registrations, the North Korean athletes will move to the athletes' residence in Gangneung where they will stay throughout the duration of the Games.
Meanwhile, the South Korean government is giving away free tickets online to the NOrth Korean Samjiyon orchestra concerts that will take place in Gangneung on February 8th and in Seoul on February 11th to the 530 lucky winners.
- The Malacanang Palace denied claims that the Duterte administration favored China after the Philippine government allowed it to conduct marine scientific research in Benham Rise. According to Presidential spokesperson, Harry Roque, the government did not extend special treatment to China as other countries — including the U.S. and Japan — had also been allowed to carry out scientific studies in the Philippine territory off the eastern coast of Aurora province.
- Meanwhile, the Malacanang will investigate Rappler's reported memorandum of agreement with the Department of Education, stating that it will be DepEd's sole partner in promoting and developing the agency's campus journalism programs.
- Customs fixer Mark Taguba has surrendered himself to the National Bureau of Investigation following his arrest order last month. Taguba, together with his legal counsel Attorney Raymund Fortun, voluntarily surrender to the NBI after they received information of the arrest warrant in relation to his violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
- Earlier, those in the western part of America saw the "Super Blue Blood Moon", which is the first time in 35 years a blue moon has synced up with both a supermoon and a lunar eclipse. The East Coast, Europe, and most of Latin America and Africa only got to see the super blue moon. The next one will occur in 2037.
- SEAT will debut the Cupra performance sub-brand at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

The IDOLM@STER Side M anime series, aired since fall 2017 for 13 episodes, features the life and times of the boys of 315 PRODUCTION at the hands of a certain producer who promises to give boys some second chances as idols. We all witness who these men are from Jupiter, DRAMATIC STARS, Beit, S.E.M., HighxJoker, and W, and with men like these, 315 PRODUCTION isn't just a talent agency, it's a brotherhood in their own right. Anyway, with the arrival of the two-disc original soundtrack from the show, think of this as a souvenir for watching the whole series from start to finish.
This two-disc compilation features all of the background musics as heard from the TV series and when you get to the second disc, not just the TV-sized version of the theme song, titled Reason!! as well as Beyond The Dream and DRIVE A LIVE, but also the last song of the series as mentioned in this album, titled GLORIOUS RO@D. This is the only way to listen the 315 STARS' final salvo of the TV series so you better have one in your Side M anime playlist.

Aired last fall 2017, the second series of Love Live! Sunshine!! sees the Aqours heroes in a middle of a do-or-die crisis when they heard the news that their alma mater, the Uranohoshi Girls High, is facing closure. Despite numerous attempts, they failed to save their school and no matter the outcome, the road to the Love Live finals is the only way to seal their soon-to-be-defunct school to the pages of history. This two-disc soundtrack features songs and score as heard from the TV series and while most of the background music as heard in the show were all made by Tatsuya Kato, it features TV-sized Aqours songs from Mirai no Bokura wa Shitteru Yo to WONDERFUL STORIES. There's even different versions of the closing theme song featuring each of the Aqours heroes all the way to the end of that bonfire episode you might be familiar with.
Treasure this original soundtrack with you wherever you go because this will be the biggest souvenir from the second series of Love Live! Sunshine!! and the Aqours heroes would like to thank you for your never-ending support from the show from the beginning to the very end.

South Korea will send non-Olympic skiers to the North's Masikryong Ski Resort for two days of joint training as part of a series of planned events ahead of the Winter Olympics in South Korea.
A group of South Korean inspectors visited the venues in the North last week to look around the facilities, the airport and road conditions. However, it was reported that the North blamed "biased" and "insulting" media coverage from South Korea on the North's planned events for the Olympics.
The North was also very angry at South Korean media reports of a possible military parade in Pyongyang on February 8th, a day before the games begin.
South Korea's unification ministry said the North's sudden decision was regrettable adding that the North should uphold all the remaining agreements that have been made.
- US President Donald Trump delivered his first state of the union to detail how much he has done in his first year of his presidency and laying out his next move such as his ongoing attack on immigrants, his new attack on federal employees including the FBI, privatize roads and bridges, and fueling the escalating tensions against North Korea, among many others. The controversial American firebrand leader even managed to sound bipartisan and convinces Democrats to be with him and his agenda.
- Yesterday, President Rodrigo Duterte suggested implementing a permanent "no man's land" on the 9km radius zone around Mayon Volcano following volcanic activity during the past few weeks. According to him the proposal, which was aired by Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana, aims to prevent future “social problems” and to ensure the safety of residents who reside near the active volcano. Duterte, however, admitted that his proposal may result in various social problems as affected resident’s livelihood and lifestyle will greatly be affected.
- Senator Richard "Dick" Gordon warned former Customs commissioner Nicanor Faeldon of being imprisoned for some five years if he continues to fail to cooperate in Senate investigations. According to Gordon, Faeldon may be jailed for a long time if he does not desist from acting against the Senators. He further explained that the Senate is not as heartless as Faeldon cuts it out to be and would be willing to set him free if he chooses to cooperate properly.
- The National Housing Authority is currently probing a report regarding members of the militant group Kadamay illegally selling their occupied resettlement houses in Bulacan province, Most of the said houses were reserved by the government for the benefit of soldiers, law enforcers, and firefighters were forcibly taken by the members of Kadamay.
- The future of Formula E racers has been showcased ahead of its Geneva Motor Show appearance this March. The new Formula E machines featured increased energy storage capacity and the controversial halo design (meant to protect drivers from head injuries) that looks good on it and comes with LED lighting.
- BMW will manufacturer batteries for their PHEV models in Thailand in 2019.
- Glee actor Mark Salling was found dead in a wooded area in the eastern part of San Fernando Valley, California, recently. Salling was known for his role as Noah "Puck" Puckerman from the first to the fourth season of Glee. According to reports, Mark was pronounced dead on the scene in an "apparent suicide by hanging."
- Former broadcaster Jay Sonza lambasted former president Benigno Aquino III and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista over the closure of a certain part of Times Street.
- TV5 President Chot Reyes admitted that veering away from doing entertainment shows is "a business decision that we have to make" as the network is collaborating with the world's leading sports channel, ESPN.
