Lancia Flavia

2012 Lancia Flavia

The Flavia name has been resurrected as the Italian cousin of the Chrysler 200 Convertible. If you were wandering what is the difference between those two, I'm afraid that both of them are the same thing when you look at these two, except the fact that it has Chrysler badges thrown away and replaced with Lancia badges. That's not all because the Pentastar V6 engine is not offered on the Lancia Flavia as well because...well, nobody knows why they didn't fit it in.

You still have the class-exclusive retractable roof, most ample rear legroom of its class, some black and chrome accents, dramatic LED lighting on the cluster, Uconnect, Bluetooth connectivity, and that's about it. Even it its convertible body, it still looks sexy on the outside and a bit more premium on the inside but don't get so easy on this one.

The only engine available on the Lancia Flavia is the 2.4L 16v engine that produces 170PS of power and it is mated with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission. It's not made to be focused on performance but it was made for some cruising through the world's best driving roads. Yep, with the roof off, you'll enjoy the wind hurling you around while driving the Flavia.

Two colors are available; Bright White (Bianco Pastello) and Mineral Gray.

My comment;
Those Lancias imported from Chrysler such as the Lancia Voyager and the Lancia Thema were became a minor flop because sales couldn't achieve its target but with the Flavia, do you think it would work? I'm afraid not because in today's economy, this car doesn't work at all and wait, this car is not made for English-speaking Lancia fans because it was only sold for European markets only where they don't speak English. Sadly, this car won't make it to the UK market because both the Chrysler 200 Convertible and the Lancia Flavia will always be left-hand drive and it would be highly impossible to make it right hand drive. Yep, the Lancia Flavia is not made for English speaking drivers but if you're speaking English, get yourselves a Chrysler 200 Convertible...in the USA.

Welcome Back: 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

Trust us on this...the CTS-V Coupe
was bred for the Pirelli World Challenge

When Eagles Dare

If the sedan version of the CTS-V is made to compete against the E63 AMG and the BMW M5, then the CTS-V Coupe is made to compete against the BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe, and the Audi RS5.

It has the same features as the sedan version, a 556HP Eaton-supercharged 6.2L V8 engine, and dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control, but because this is a 2-door coupe version, it's lighter. All that power and all that torque is channeled either an available TREMEC® 6-speed manual shifter or Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic. As for cornering, the CTS-V Coupe does well thanks to its Nurburgring-tuned suspension with Magnetic Ride Control. Race-inspired Brembo disc brakes are equipped to deliver a powerful stopping power.

This coupe version of the CTS-V was now heavily involved in the 2011 Pirelli World Challenge series after Cadillac's four year absence and it was built by Pratt & Miller.

My favorite Bond cars during the Pierce Brosnan years

A battle between two Bond cars!

When Bond was in his Pierce Brosnan years (1995-2002), those Bond cars featured were mostly German while his last film is reverted back to British. Those were the BMW Z3 from GoldenEye, BMW 750Li from Tomorrow Never Dies, BMW Z8 from The World Is Not Enough, and the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. Two of my favorite Bond cars during the Pierce Brosnan years were actually the BMW Z8 and the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish because they were very unique, very cool, and surprisingly, a part of my childhood memories.

Luckily, both the Z8 and the V12 Vanquish were in Forza Motorsport 4 I have the choice which of these Pierce Brosnan-era Bond cars is my pick. First was the Z8, as a Bond car featured in the 1999 Bond film, The World Is Not Enough, this car is all about being too classy and drop dead gorgeous. If that didn't put you off, two Bond games featured this car such as 007 Racing, where a selection of Bond cars are showcased in numerous missions, and 007 Agent Under Fire, a first-person shooter game. Sadly, however, this Z8 hasn't found a mass audience and according to Jeremy Clarkson, it feels like driving a Scania truck. (Honest!)

It may have a wonderful looking body, it may have an engine from a BMW M5, it may have a tricked rear axle, and they have James Bond to drive one, it should have been spectacularly good but the result was very awful and that's why production of this Z8 model ended in 2003. Even the last hurrah which is a tuned version of the Z8, the ALPINA Z8, wasn't good either because this is just a tuned car that feels downgraded.

If you don't like the BMW Z8 because it feels more like a Scania truck like Jeremy Clarkson did, how about a Bond car that served as a last hurrah for Pierce Brosnan before he was replaced by Dainel Craig in 2006? The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. Yep, the V12 Vanquish, the one used by Pierce Brosnan on his last Bond film, DIE ANOTHER DAY, and what's surprising is when Q Branch fitted the car with body panels that render the Vanquish invisible. Sadly, we can't do that. In a Bond video game, 007 Nightfire, this car releases smoke, has Q wedge, EMP, and it can go underwater. Also, we can't do that. Even it doesn't have some of the cool Bond stuff, the Vanquish is much more good looking than the BMW Z8 and this Bond car comes serve with a 6.0L V12 that produces 460HP of power and 0-60mph in 5 seconds. The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish appeared in an episode of Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson heads to the Isle of Wight to drive the Vanquish against the Ferrari 575 Maranello, driven by former F1 World Champion Damon Hill. The Vanquish set a lap time of 1.36.2. Later on, an improved version, the Vanquish S, set a lap time of 1.27.1 at the Top Gear Test Track.

Both of these Bond cars may seem to be different but if I compare both of these, it's hard to decide which of these Brosnan-era Bond cars is my pick but for me, I would probably go for the Vanquish because it's quintessentially good looking until it was taken over by a Bond car driven by Daniel Craig, which is the DBS, one of my favorites.

But, how's like to be in the Top Gear Test Track? Let's find out by pushing these two round the track by a tamed racing driver.

My BMW Z4 did it in 1:26.377 while the V12 Vanquish did it in 1:23.279, which means, I would prefer the Vanquish because it's faster than the BMW Z8 and more importantly, better looking, better to drive, and that's it

Let's Do The News - The Father's Day Gift special! (June 15, 2012)

Father's Day is on Sunday, June 17, 2012, right? My gosh, we got some present ideas in store in our studio, something cool, something sub-zero, something uncool, and something SERIOUSLY UNCOOL. Why don't we start with this? As we all know, one of the most popular Father's Day gifts were include going outside, clothing, gift cards, gadgets, books, CD's, home improvement items, sporting goods, and so on. If you live in France and if you have a dad who loves motorsports, why not bring him to La Sarthe to watch the 24 Hours of Le Mans?

(laughinig)

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! You want their daddies to take them out to Le Mans to see the 24 hour race?

Well, fathers like racing, right? You would expect seeing dads who love watching racing on TVs.

Oh.

But what about basketball? Game 3 of the Miami-Oklahoma battle is going to be in...

Shhh...shhh...shhhh....shhhh...

What?

Everybody would watch that on TV. So far, the series tied 1-1. Cannot believe those useless Miami Heat took out OKC.

(laughing)

Well, good for them. Good job, Miami Heat. Good jo...

Shhh...shhhh.shhhh

(laughing)

Nobody's going to hear you saying that Miami won. Still, useless... Anyway, there are so many stuff themed after Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder. Jerseys are the most popular choice for those and those fans who are wearing Heat jerseys (popularly the ones worn by LeBron James or Dwayne Wade) would be supporting the most useless while those who are wearing Thunder jerseys (popularly the one from Kevin Durant) would be supporting the one that suppose to win.

(laughing)

Anyway, enough basketball for now and move on to gifts. Hey, what's this?!

Ham, that's Moekana.

Moekana?

Moekana, an anime kind of way to learn Hiragana courtesy of Culture Japan mascot, Mirai Suenaga, and friends.

Gosh, I wanna learn Hiragana with that.

But, those who love this whole Moekana cards would love to do a game. Wanna know? Here: http://www.dannychoo.com/post/en/26495/About+Moekana.html

Uh.....uh.....uh.....uh.....

Oh look! Hammo's confused!

(laughing)

MOEKANA'S HARD! I DON'T WANT ONE! I THINK A DADDY WHO WANTS TO LEARN JAPANESE LANGUAGE SHOULDN'T WANT ONE!

(laughing)

Look at this!

What?

Some 1:24 scale model kits based on the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ sports coupes, courtesy of Tamiya! A daddy who loves JDM cars would love that...

Uh, some assembly required, pal. Some assembly required. A dad would take some super glue to piece them all. That's all.

Yeah, I know. Some assembly required but hey, if a daddy put them all the pieces, it seems that he's going to obsessed of comparing both the 86 and the BRZ. Do you like 86 or BRZ?

(laughing)

Okay, dads who've obsessed with peeking over 1:24 scale 86 or BRZ is too far enough. I found something even better for a Father's Day Present Ideas. Some 1:43 scale French cars ranging from Peugeot, Citroen, and Renault!

(laughing)

But, for a dad, let's prefer the latest models such as the new 208, 4008, and C4 Aircross! How's that for a gift?

(laughing)

Excuse me, a dad might end up being 9 years old. Kids who often play with toy cars will end up being the same for grown men.

(laughing)

How about this? a 1:43 scale of the Porsche 911 (991) Carrera S (in coupe or Cabriolet) a a present?

A diecast new SL-Class?

Shhh...shhh....shhhh....enough for this toy cars. How about this? Dads tend to be couch potatoes so, how about those new kind of Panasonic Viera TV sets but for 2012, those Viera TV sets are now slimmer and adapting a concept of "Glass & Metal". Welcome everyone to the WT5 Series Viera TVs.

Ooh. They're now slimmer than an average HD TV and this time...

...This time they're smarter. Smarter than ever. What's cool that your smartphone will be serving as a remote for this smarter Vieras via an app. That is wow indeed.

Wow!

Wow!

Anyway, TVs...TVs....nope. Not quite a good idea....How about this?

What do you mean this "I AM THE STIG" T-Shirt?

It's perfect. Wear it and have your presence be known. Get it?

Look, this whole "I AM THE STIG" T-Shirt is not worth noticing that you're Stig. Being a Stig takes a bit of Simpson Diamondbacks and Alpinestars. Get it?

Oh yes! Maybe dads want to be Stigs. Sounds great but no. You can't tell a dad to be Stig for a day. That's rubbish.

(laughing)

If you don't want dads to do Stigs for a day. How about The Doctor for the day? Being Doctor Who?

(laughing)

No. Only nerds would do that.

Yeah, nerds would do that. Not dads unless he was born from the 60's and known Doctor Who while they were kids.

(laughing)

Speaking of which...Is that the TARDIS?

(laughing)

TARDIS

YES.

Then, what do you do with that?

Time travelling back to the hour that we didn't talk about rubbish present ideas for dads.

(laughing)

So you're saying most of our present ideas seem to be rubbish? Are they rubbish?

No. It's just a toy TARDIS. It would only fit to give it to a dad who remembered Doctor Who while he was a kid.

(awwww)

Nah, just kidding. Just a real TARDIS....

(laughing)

...but actually my port-a-potty.

(laughing)

Nope. Not port-a-potty. It's a genuine time machine.

(laughing)

Just joking. I wouldn't do...

What are you talking about? Are you trying to get away from our Father's Day Gifting ideas?

...they're rubbish. We'll conclude this as a fail. We never think of any particular present idea for a dad.

Yeah right. We're rubbish. We've wasted a lot of time thinking of what daddy dearest will be for Father's Day.

Right, but before we leave with disappointment, here's something you might be considered with...

Hope you'll like it and on that bombshell, let's end this. Good bye!
