Japan's 3.11 tragedy and three years later...
Let's all take a moment of silence to remember one of the most tragic moments ever to hit The Land of The Rising Sun...
You see, in the 11th of March, 2011, at the Tohoku Region of Japan, a magnitude-9 earthquake triggered a nightmarish tsunami that was more than 10 meters high. Authorities said as of now, over 18,500 people were either dead of unaccounted for while almost 3,000 people died while evacuated from their homes. Not only that, it triggered a meltdown at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant, causing radiation fears not only in Japan but the rest of the world.
As of last month, over a quarter of a million Japanese people were still living in their temporary shelters while construction for new housing on higher ground is lagging behind schedule. About 3% have been completed so far.
It takes over four decades to decommission the Fukushima plant and the cleanup takes a lot of time.

When that disaster happened, it seems that Japan has just went to their knees, considering the parts shortage, contamination concerns, power shortages, and most of the bad things happened in Japan. Moments later, it stood up again thanks to the generous support from all over the world.
For those from the Northeastern Japan, we are thinking about you and we wish you all the very best you can. That is my message to them and with one year passed, it seems that the Tohoku region still hasn't get away from their nightmares of last year's but I'm sure they'll find a way.
As a fan of all things Japanese, I surely wish for them to stood up again. The sun is rising for them.

Six Nations 2014 - Round 4
England vs. Wales, two bitter rival teams, one match. And here in Twickenham, it's a total catastrophe for our friends at the Welsh Rugby Union as with the score of 29 to 18, England Rugby wins the match. This is definitely one of the worst moments to expect for our Welsh heroes in the game of rugby. Such tries from Danny Care and Luther Burrell as well as Owen Farrell's winning techniques really made England Rugby on the rush for the Triple Crown.
Here are the video highlights:
So, a humiliating loss for the WRU in a grudge match against England but before this grudge match occured, there was Ireland's IRFU defeated Italy's FIR at the score of 46 to 7...
...and France's FFR defeated Scotland at the score of 17 to 19. That's Scotland 17, France 19.
So, that concludes Round 4 of the RBS Six Nations 2014. Based on the results, it looks like England and France are in the lead with three wins each.
Don't miss the finale of the RBS Six Nations 2014! Here are the schedules for the final game of the season;
Italy vs. England - March 15 - 13:30 - Stadio Olimpico
Wales vs. Scotland - March 15 - 14:45 - Millenium Stadium
France vs. Ireland - March 15 - 18:00 - Stade de France

Nissan GT-R NISMO
Since the return of the GT-R in 2007 and having been on the block for about seven years with numerous updates, the premiere flagship supercar of Nissan is still dominating the supercar segment and thanks to its overwhelming performance, the GT-R sure knows how to take down numerous sportscars, even those that are five times the price. After seven years of extensive R&D as well as testing on the Nurburgring and involvement in motorsports such as FIA GT3 and Super GT, it seems that the king of Japanese sportscars now has a new heir and here it is; seven years of hard work pays off...
This is the brand new 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO, the ultimate GT-R ever made and this car isn't more of a show-off because with this GT-R, it means big business for NISMO, the motorsports and tuning arm of Nissan. Let me tell you a bit of a story in the making of the GT-R NISMO. You see, most of the people working for Nissan spent several years investigating its rival supercars; especially European ones. Think of it like...what national security does to us, eavesdropping our phone calls for no reason. After years of research and development, those elite engineers poured in every rival supercars' database and do some science on the GT-R and since the announcement of a hotter and more powerful GT-R, they continue their quest for dig deeper to the supercar science until eventually...
Like putting every stuff in the microwave before explosions, this is the result of how Nissan do it to create the ultimate masterpiece catered for the elite aficionados. These guys sure know how to save this for last and they sure did. The NISMO GT-R is a GT-R built from scratch and to succeed where the normal GT-R left off in the pursuit of speed and perfection. It takes an inception to perfect its conception of a true driver's car and the GT-R NISMO takes it seriously by delivering the best it has to offer for a car that is track-focused and barely street legal. You can use it on the road but some drivers may think you are corrupted with speed and they refuse to challenge you, unless someone is brave enough to rise to the challenge.

It still carries the same 3.8L twin-turbo V6 engine as the original one but because this is a NISMO-tuned version, it now develops 600PS of power output, about 10PS less than the new Lamborghini Huracan's V10 engine and 5PS less than the hardcore Ferrari 458 Speciale but don't underestimate that gap because since the GT-R NISMO is powered by every nooks and crannies NISMO throw at it, and if you engage the tricky Launch Control sequence, you can kiss goodbye to both the 458 Speciale or the Huracan with that one.
Handling-wise, the NISMO GT-R is the definite equivalent of what happens when you electrocute a twirler from a drum majorette with some electrical equipment. It might be coordinated and graceful but it can be somewhat cack-handed and rubbish if you fail to tame to its peak. If you have a bad case of stiff neck or osteoporosis, be warned that once you try to handle it as violent as a Brainiac, you're going to pay a massive bill from the chiropractic or worse, your health insurance. I'm just saying that because even though the 4WD system keeps this car as stable as a fat man in an earthquake, you can get too risky to tame it with all that vibrations shaking you down on a hot lap.
Here's more, while this car tries to stay true to its hardcore stance, the GT-R NISMO went round the Nurburgring in 7:08.679 and that's even faster than any other European sportscars that are pricier than this.
2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO interior |
Even though it's track-focused and barely street legal, the GT-R NISMO is a well-sorted luxury car that you can use it to go to the shops. It still comes with a lot of convenience you can try if you're having a break on a track-day duty and it even comes with a special telematics system exclusively for the GT-R NISMO. It's called the NissanConnect NISMO Plus and if you're in Suzuka, Tsukuba, Motegi, or Fuji, you can use it to track lap times as well as your driving data on the track. It even has GPS Visualiser which in a future Gran Turismo 6 update, it allows you to import Controller Area Network (CAN), used to regulate automobile systems, and GPS coordinate data from a real life car into Gran Turismo 6, and visualise the data as a replay in the game. Perhaps no wonder it's a clear sign that the Nissan GT-R NISMO might make it to GT6 very soon. Hoping but not expecting.
So, what's my take on the NISMO GT-R? Well, as the folks from Nissan agree, especially the fans, enthusiasts, and aficionados alike, the GT-R had gone through numerous revisions and racked numerous awards. Thanks to the GT-R, Nissan was prompted to begin development of their next-generation platform but my high hopes for the ultimate GT-R as you see now can't be overlook on the road and on the track. With the introductory pricing of just 15,015,000 Japanese Yen, that is a lot for a car but if you have the cash fit for a mogul and if you have one, fire up and see if the flagship of Nissan still got what it takes to be the perfect Godzilla! Trust me on this, the new NISMO GT-R is the one to love.

Things we learned today...
- Wikileaks founder Julian Assange talks about last year's NSA scandal and warns at more leaks that could endanger national or global security.
- Last year, NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon pulled a "Test Drive" prank for the Pepsi Max commercial and over a million YouTube views was scored. However, Jalponik editor Travis Okulski posted an article that did Jeff Gordon pulled that prank or is it fake. Disgraced by Okulski's article that last year's prank as alleged to be fake, it's time for some serious payback as Jeff pulled the prank to Okulski himself to show it's the real deal. Check out the video;
- Japan's video game accessory brand HORI revealed three new "corded" iDOLM@STER PS3 Controllers; come in Haruka, Chihaya, and Miki versions. Might be handy just before the PS3-exclusive iM@S One For All hits this May.
- Check out the new trailer for the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction movie, hitting theaters this June!
- The budget-friendly Citroen C4 Cactus compact crossover will be the first to incorporate Europe's pay-per-use leasing scheme.
- Production of the Jaguar XK sports coupe will end this Summer 2014 after 8 years and 54,000 sales.
- Don't miss part one of the Top Gear Burma Special this Sunday at 08:00PM (British Time) on BBC Two and BBC Two HD! The first of the two-parter sees Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May explore the wonders of Myanmar in trucks.
- ICYMI: Construction for a racetrack at San Jose, Tarlac, is underway. This new track will be about 1.5km long and 12m wide and the other parts of the circuit 10m wide. It costs almost 2.6 million dollars to construct it and because this track's so wide that even with big tractors around, cars might race in this new track aside from go-karts and motorbikes.
- Manny Pacquiao flew to the US for some more training in preparation for the rematch against Timothy Bradley.
- The Gutierrez family (from Richard Gutierrez, Ruffa Gutierrez, Raymond Gutierrez, Eddie Gutierrez, and Annabelle Rama) will star in the first ever Asian reality show titled It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez. Think of it like...the show with the Kardashians on it but ahem...this show is all about the Gutierrez family and it will be shown at E Networks across Asia. The daily lives of the Gutierrez family were highlighted soon.
- It's just two years away before the 2016 elections but a report from TV5 highlighted potential successors to P-Noy. Check out that clip.

The Got To Believe finale
In case anyone who missed the finale of ABS-CBN's hit drama series, Got To Believe, here's what happened;
In the finale, at the graveyard, Juliana Manansala (Carmina Villaorel) confessed to Jaime that it was her who put a bullet on the head of Joaquin (Daniel Padilla) in the past because of her depression and accused Chichay's "papa bear" for the crime. Expressed with guilt and shame, it was a time for forgiveness and Joaquin forgave his mother for all the wrongdoings.
Meanwhile, with the Tampipis, along with Papa Bear and Mama Bear and friends on sight, Joaquin brought his mom just to apologize to the Tampipis right before she was arrested by the police.
Years later, Juliana and Jamie got married with all the family and friends on sight and Chichay (Kathryn Bernardo) even served as the bridesmaid for the wedding.
The show ends when Joaquin tries to propose Chichay at the rooftops and when suddenly just as we thought that when Joaquin got accidentally fell over the building...he bungee jumped. It's a bungee jumping for Joaquin but Chichay got so mad at him that such trick was proven to be life-threatening to his life and when everything's cooled down with Chichay gone tearful, the proposal was a success. Again, the proposal was a success. BEST ENDING EVER.

- ULTRA BUMMER! Malaysia's Ministry of Home Affairs banned Ultraman: The Ultra Power comics due to elements described as detrimental to public order last month. No reason why but some say it's that A-word that caused a stir because when translated, well, we can't say the religious A-word for national security reasons but it goes like "the Elder to all Ultra heroes".
- German carmaker RUF revealed the most extreme of the 991-tuned Ruf models and it's called the RCT and it offers some stuff that the normal 991 911 Turbo can't. First of all, the RCT's 3.8L boxer-6 turbo engine generates 525HP of power and it's mated to either a 7-speed doppelkupplungsgetriebe or a 7-speed manual gearbox. It's available in either a 4WD or an RR. A normal 991 Turbo doesn't have those stuff like the manual gearbox and the rear-wheel drive (save it for the next GT2)!

BBC Earth Hidden Kingdoms Original Soundtrack
BBC Earth Hidden Kingdoms Original Soundtrack |
Hidden Kingdoms is part of the long line of astonishing nature documentaries courtesy of BBC Earth and this documentary highlights on the fate of small and often ignored creatures from their perspective and their existence as this documentary escalates to an impressive spectacle viewers worth remembering for. The Guardian's Lucy Mangan called this documentary "another smashing BBC hour of natural history".
There is now an original television soundtrack from the phenomenal nature documentary series which features not only the opening and closing themes from the series but also the background musics as heard from the series. The music was composed and conducted by the ever brilliant Ben Foster and The BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Does these sound familiar to you? Yes, these familiar names were the ones responsible for the background musics from the Doctor Who TV series (with Murray Gold's help) as well as the short-lived Torchwood spin-off. - Seen the Koenigsegg One:1 hypercar at this year's Geneva show? Guess what? EA exclusivity. Sorry. Because EA partnered with Koenigsegg to give players of Need For Speed Rivals an exclusive drive with the ultimate Koenigsegg ever made as a free DLC. With the One:1 at the hands of every NFS player playing NFSR, they can become the ultimate "street terrorist" as a Racer or the "ultimate law enforcer" as a Cop. About the One:1, it's Koenigsegg's ultimate hypercar because as its name implies, the power-to-weight ratio is an impossible 1hp-to-kg. 1,342 horsepower, 1,341kg of weight, no other hypercar comes close!
- Back to the Ukraine standoff; Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk warned that Crimea will remain in Ukraine. This is part of the developing news in the Russian military invasion to Crimea, and it seems that US President Obama is on a risky game of Russian Roulette on Russian President Putin's plot to send military forces to Crimea...
- The 3-hour brownouts in Mindanao will continue...
- A South Korean TV network, SBS, were in hot water right now over a suicide of a female contestant on a reality matchmaking show called Jjak. This contestant was found dead during a week-long production shoot at a guesthouse in Jeju Island by hanging herself with a hair dryer cord and left a suicide note stating she didn't want to live anymore.
- The BMW X4 is revealed officially.
- It is reported that there are now a total of seven Ferrari F12 units in the Philippine roads. Six of them were from Autostrada Motore, the official Ferrari and Maserati distributor in the Philippines, and the other was smuggled.
- Jaguar officially announced that their new 3-Series fighter and potential X-Type replacement will be called the XE.
- Have you seen the new trailer of the upcoming horror flick, Oculus? Yes, and Karen Gillan's included in the trailer.
- Now available in Forza Motorsport 5 is the Alpinestars Car Pack and like last month's pack; one new-to-Forza car, 9 returning Forza cars. Here are the list of this month's cars;
1999 Toyota #3 Toyota Motorsports GT-ONE TS020
2013 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG

1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT
1965 Ford Mustang GT Coupe

Top Gear S21E05
Top Gear S21E05 |
In the fifth episode of Top Gear Season 21, we see Jeremy Clarkson comparing new hot hatches such as the new BMW M135i and the new Volkswagen Golf VII GTi. After minutes of reviewing both of these hatchbacks (and in the moment Jeremy got spun off in the M135i), The Stig handles both of these hatchbacks and the BMW M135i did it in 1:25.1 and the VW Golf VII GTi did it in 1:28.6.
Meanwhile, Jeremy and James are on a hilarious challenge to create a PSA about safe cycling. From bomb-defusal to religion, attempts of making a PSA are ended in failures and then...there's the PSA that goes...give them an inch because they've given you a mile.
Aaron Paul from the concluded Breaking Bad TV series and the upcoming Need For Speed movie is the SIARPC and at the time of 1:44.7, his need for speed made him at the top of the leaderboard. A new record in an Astra!
Lastly, Richard Hammond returns to the Abu Dhabi to try out the brand new Porsche 918 Spyder and takes it to the spin at the Yas Marina Circuit. Well sadly, that ultimate showdown will have to wait this summer.
Next week is a brand-new 2-part Burma Special where the boys drive second-hand trucks in Myanmar and build a bridge at some river.

Forza Motorsport 5: The Lotus E21
With the addition of open-wheelers in Forza Motorsport 5, the lineup got expanded not just to track toys but also IndyCars and F1 racers and nothing's more extreme to drive as the Lotus E21. This is Lotus' entry to the Formula One 2013 season but what is it? Let's find out...
Being the first of the F1 cars launched for the F1 2013 season, the E21 is designed and built by the Lotus F1 team. It was driven by Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean. As a response from 2012's E20 for having difficulties with the DRS, this machine comes with a built-in passive DRS device. It was powered by Renault's RS27-2013 2.4L V8 engine developing 750HP of power and 221lb-ft of torque.
The chassis features a moulded honeycomb composite monocoque made of carbon fiber and aluminum for added strength and less weight. It comes with carbon-fiber top and bottom wishbones where in the front, it operates with a pushrod setup, and in the back, it comes with a pull rod operated torsion springs and transverse-mounted damper units mounted in the top of the transmission casing.
This car placed 4th in the F1 2013's World Constructor's Championship whereas Kimi Raikkonen placed 5th overall and Romain Grosjean 7th overall in the F1 2013 season.

Cars GT6 Should Put (Volume 21)
Earlier this week, I dug deeper to the car knowledgeum to see if there are some CARS GT6 SHOULD PUT...
5) Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 '15
The latest ZO6, based on the new C7 Corvette, is the most advanced C7 Corvette ever made. With its enhanced aerodynamics, race-focused technology, and the new superchaged V8 engine developing almost 20 less than the Corvette C6 ZR1 but some say, it can set lap times quicker than the old ZR1 but who cares? Since Gran Turismo were involved in the development of this car, we're hoping that the new C7 Z06 would make it to the limelight because the C7 Corvette still has some Gran Turismo exclusivity.
4) McLaren MP4/4 '88
It's one of the most successful Formula One cars in ages and this turbocharged V6 F1 racer completely dominated the 1988 F1 season. It garnered the Constructor's Championship for McLaren and the Driver's Championship for the legendary Ayrton Senna. Since the Senna-related content may come in GT6 this summer, I'm sure it will turn up at this point.
3) Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 '13
The facelifted Gallardo LP560-4, launched at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, started the countdown that the baby Lambo is coming to an end but for this final Gallardo, along with its revised exterior looks, it surely won't let go without a good fight. Let's hope the 2013 model will make it to the GT6 car list if it kills me. Like the pre-facelifted model we had in GT6, it still comes with the same 5.2L V10 engine developing 560PS of power.
2) MINI Cooper S '14
The new F56 Mini has now became less of a Mini, more of a Wumbo (well, it's all BMW's fault because somebody has a field of Wumbology) but it still retains its fun-to-drive character for a luxury compact car with a British blood coursing through its veins. It runs on a brand new UKL1 platform that we may expect this to use on FWD Bimmers and it has a host of new engine choices, all with Mini's TwinPower Turbo Technology. I just hope that the new Mini makes it on GT6 because I just wanna see what's like to drive the New Mini virtually.
1) McLaren 650S '14
Set for its premiere at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the new McLaren 650S looks kinda confusing because it looks more of a MP4-12C with the P1's face in it, just like the Sileighty where the 180SX has a Silvia S13's face in it. It may have the same V8 turbo engine from the 12C but as the name implies, it produces 650PS of power output. This is the track weapon I'm surely want to have one...
The results please? So when one of these cars showed up in future updates on GT6, you can't say I have a little bit to do with that.
Take that to Kaz Yamauchi!

Celebs from the wonderful world of Disney draw themselves their very own drawing of Phineas and Ferb's Perry the Platypus and those digital featurettes that you can find it on the Disney website is kinda more of our liking watching internet videos of Disney celebs drawing their own Perry the Platypus. They're all did very well on drawing our favorite semi-aquatic, egg-laying, mammal of action but I decided myself to pick some of my favorite Draw Perry drawings as drawn by Disney celebs...
1) Bridgit Mendler from Good Luck Charlie
2) G Hannelius from Dog With A Blog
3) Caroline Sunshine from Shake It Up
4) Raini Rodriguez from Austin & Ally
5) Laura Marano from Austin & Ally
6) Calum Worthy from Austin & Ally
7) Karan Brar from Jessie
8) Zendaya from Shake It Up
9) Stefanie Scott from ANT Farm
10) Blake Michael from Dog With A Blog
So there you are, these are some of my favorite Dray Perry draws as done by the Disney celebs. If I had to choose one, I bet it's either Bridgit's or G's. Don't tell me why but hey, at least celebs do had a liking for Perry the Platypus.
