The newest Pikmin adventure has arrived on the Nintendo Switch as Pikmin 4 welcomes fans and newcomers to the series with new and exciting ways to master your favorite Pikmin pals in treacherous situations.
PIKMIN 4 |
Pikmin 4 is the newest Pikmin adventure where only you and a band of Pikmins can rescue members of the Rescue Corps and gather treasure while surviving through treacherous paths and enemies that are even more terrifying than the previous Pikmin adventure.
For the first time in a Pikmin adventure, you can personalize your own explorer and then set off on the newest journey where your mission is to rescue the stranded Rescue Corps members, fix the S.S. Shepherd, and collect treasures along the way. Be warned, this rescue mission is obviously a perilous one.
Perilous the journey indeed, you are joined by a flock of Pikmins along the way. Each Pikmin has different strengths you can take advantage of such as the fire-resistant Red Pikmin, waterproof Blue Pikmin, electric-proof Yellow Pikmin, heavyweight Purple Pikmin, poison-resistant White Pikmin, durable Rock Pikmin, and high-flying Winged Pikmin.
They are joined by two new types of Pikmin that are proven to be useful along the way such as the Ice Pikmin with the ability to freeze enemies and water, and the Glow Pikmin that can, you guessed it, glow in the dark.
In addition to the new types of Pikmin, the rescue pup Oatchi can be proven to be useful for you and as the adventure progresses you can train Oatchi to unlock new abilities.
With familiar Pikmin gameplay mechanics aside, Pikmin 4 has new features such as collecting materials for construction or crafting new equipment, the Rescue Command Post where you can communicate with your crew or choose to go on Night Expeditions for the first time in a Pikmin game, the new Rewind Time feature where you can correct past mistakes or when you're stuck in a puzzling situation, unlockable landing spots, and Dandori Challenges where you will collect the most items before time runs out. There are so many ways and means you can do while surviving this perilous journey with a band of Pikmin pals alongside you. Don't forget Dandori Battles, where you will challenge a mysterious rival, collecting items before time runs out. The highest score wins.
Because it can also be played with two players, you can either battle with your pal in a Dandori Battle or team up in the Story mode by having the second player throw pebbles at enemies and lend useful items to the first player.
With new and exciting ways to enjoy the newest Pikmin adventure, this is the one you'll keep coming back for more if you are really brave enough. Welcome aboard, explorers!
