Which is why Bugatti went to the drawing board and made up with their greatest combination that brings the best of both worlds.
Here's a question; what ultra-rare masterpiece Bugatti made promises to be better than the Chiron rather than speed and elegance? If you said the Divo, then you're right.
This is the Bugatti Divo, a Bugatti that not only enjoys going fast on the straights but also in the corners as well and I got this from the recent series update's Autumn Horizon Playlist. Before having a few dibs about the Divo, let's have a little X-file on Bugatti's ultimate track toy.
Unveiled at the exclusive automotive event in Monterey, California, the Bugatti Divo, named after two-time Targa Florio winner Albert Divo, is the ultimate track toy that is made for one purpose; handling. While it comes with the same 8.0L W16 engine from the Chiron with 1,500PS of power output, the Divo weighs 35kgs lighter and has 90kg more downforce than the normal Chiron, resulting to 1.6G of lateral acceleration and top speed of 380kph. It lapped the Nardo track eight seconds faster than the Chiron.
All 40 Divos have been already been sold before the world premiere and each Divo is coachbuilt to customer specifications, marking a return of Bugatti's tradition.
As I took the spin with the Divo, the way it behaves truly exceeds my expectations, leaving track-only heavyweights like the Aston Martin Vulcan and the Pagani Zonda R scratching their heads. As a matter of fact, the Divo really is incredibly easy to drive and it almost doesn't care about understeering and oversteering at all because corners are the Divo's best friend. With the Divo, you will spend lots and lots of time driving through the bends with confidence and you will never stop driving it until you are fully satisfied with it.
To test this theory, I went to LEGO Valley and unleash the dancing Divo to the world, just to show how Bugatti's special machine is capable of.
Roll the tape...
Nearly perfect but you get the point.
The Bugatti Divo has proven to be a solid all-rounder, being a hypercar that not only drives fast in the straights but also on the corners as well, and they are very wise to create a no-nonsense hypercar that does all the things that the Chiron couldn't do.
So, would you prefer the Divo over the Chiron or any of the track-only monsters like the Vulcan and the Zonda R? The choice is yours.
