Cadillac's done it again last race weekend and to celebrate, let's take a spin round Daytona with two of the latest high-performance vehicles straight from the Cadillac V-Series just to get the sensation of what is like driving in the very spot Cadillac made headlines last weekend.
Before I took these two Cadillac V cars a spin round Daytona, let's go to the Top Gear Test Track for a quick primer of what's what with these high-performance Caddies.
We begin with the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, that's their smallest offering of the V cars. Made to compete against the BMW M4, Audi RS5, and the Mercedes-AMG C63, the ATS-V is the first V car to be powered by a Twin Turbo 3.6L V6 engine that produces 455HP of power and 445lb-ft of torque, capable of going from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and onwards to 185mph. It can be mated with either a 6-speed MT with Active Rev Match or an 8-speed AT featuring launch control and Performance Algorithm Shift. We have the one with the 6-speed MT and while this is is not as fast as the AT variant, it's still one of the most enjoyable Caddies to drive since the CTS-V Coupe of yesteryears and despite being turbocharged, it can be as downright crazy as an all-American muscle car. I know, I tried.
Speaking of muscle, you can't really beat the CTS-V, which runs on the same engine as the Corvette C7 Z06. Although short on power compared to the Dodge Charger Hellcat, the CTS-V's track-honed capabilities courtesy of its Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control, and many others can really upset the likes of the Germans. A lifetime ago, I drove this CTS-V round Laguna Seca and it managed to knock out the Charger Hellcat and a Tesla Model S. Just like old times.
Both are born from Cadillac's involvement in motorsports, mostly the IMSA per se, and with all that motorsports know-how, along with the added firepower and dynamics, these Caddies can really make a gearhead happy because they can do most of the things the Germans can't such as going fast everywhere while retaining the smiles on their faces. Now that's the American way I know, well only on the CTS-V that is because while I appreciate the ATS-V's dynamics, the turbocharged engine feels like a let go for me because it doesn't have the get-out-of-the-way attitude as the CTS-V's. Still, for the junior of the range, the ATS-V feels good as an all-rounder.
Anyway, let's give these two V cars for a spin round the Top Gear Track before they're going to a salutatory lap round Daytona, shall we?
And now, the time...
ATS-V - 1:27.471
CTS-V - 1:26.817
On a damp surface because of the rainy weather we're having, feels like they're showing no signs of slowing down and when the conditions are normal, seems that only one of these V cars are proven to be the better one and my money's on the CTS-V, apparently, because despite all of the Nurburgring-honed dynamics, the ATS-V wasn't enough to outpace the BMW M3. Still, now that I got to know about these V cars.
It's time to send them for a congratulatory lap round Daytona in honor of Cadillac's another win at the Daytona endurance race last weekend. Feels good to be driving with the luxury brand that made headlines at last weekend's race. However, looks like their little celebratory lap has cut short and these two wanted to duke out who's the better one and for some reason, I have to accept the request of the cars themselves and since this is Daytona, the track where Cadillac won last weekend, it's time to settle which of the V cars is the best.
After a lap round Daytona, here are the results...
CTS-V - 2:07.129
ATS-V - 2:14.065
The CTS-V performed brilliantly on high speeds while the ATS-V, being the lightest and the smallest offering in the range, done rather well on the corners, but in the end, looks like the one with the supercharged V8 trumps the little man with its turbo V6. Still, I'd rest my case here.
As manufacturers try to shorten the engine sizes and adding whatever means necessary to make it more powerful, they're losing the one important thing about how a car is made, the will to make drivers happy. With the V cars from Cadillac, they always keep the promise by doing what they're good at; more power to upset the Europeans while keeping its customers happy, now that is the American way all good high performance makers should learn from as long as they're making stuff that will keep them happy for longer.
I hope this celebratory lap round Daytona with the Cadillac V cars will serve as a reminded of how great high-performance cars can be when they stick to the winning formula that works, something that the Germans failed to achieve.

Forza Horizon 3: Go looking for some Heavy Slamming
The new Cadillac CTS-V sports saloon may look like a posh executive saloon fit enough to drive through financial districts like a business mogul taking charge with whatever means necessary but while this maybe a business mogul's crony, hiding behind his business suit is a wild hooligan who lives by his rules. Insanity is what best describe this new CTS-V and if you're not very careful with it, this feral beast will throw you out to the woods and left you for dead. Under the bonnet lies a similar 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine that you get from a Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 but it produces 640HP of power and 630lb-ft of torque, while mated to an 8-speed gearbox.
While this maybe the most powerful Cadillac ever made but watching its insanity unfolded is like ripping off the businesswear and in return, a street thug getup that makes you look like a bad boy looking for some ultra violence. Okay, enough talk about that now because while I'm trying to get a hold with the CTS-V, and on the subject of my day off, some makeovers had to be done to keep the insane businessman looking at its best.
Okay, still insane as ever but on the plus note, a touch of Love Live Sunshine's Mari Ohara adds some spice and Western humor to it. I really love the idea of turning a normal CTS-V into a special CTS-V featuring the same color theme as Mari Ohara from Love Live Sunshine because between you and me, her American accent does smell like death...just like Iowa. Battleship Iowa. (Chuckling). Oops, there goes the PPAP song playing on my phone.
Now, while spending my rest of the day off taking out some street racers and gunning for the last Midnight Battle, I had a bit of a problem...
The idol in the red dress?! What is she doing here? Taking a little day off from the show? Weird. This is like facing off against myself to see how much I've matured but seeing it together is like watching a scene from a TV drama where one slaps another in the face. Anyway, despite my fateful encounter with another Aqours fan, time to get "heavy." I said heavy because Mari said it with an American accent.
After the whole rumble in the jungle, the two are hanging out to the metropolis to do some fun while having a little "Cars and Coffee", if you know what I mean. After their "Cars and Coffee" conversation is over, the two part ways with their smiles on their faces after what happened earlier.
Now, all that's left for me is the final Midnight Battle and what kind of car I'll be getting on the last Midnight Battle? Stay tuned...

Forza Motorsport 6: Finally, a new Cadillac!
Finally, the recent Turn 10 Summer Car Pack on the Forza Motorsport 6 XBOX One game featured a brand new Cadillac complete with the new logo that the folks should have put it since day one and the new Caddy with the new logo featured here is none other than...
...the most powerful Cadillac ever made, the brand new CTS-V. Finally, a Caddy with lots of power fans can finally drive in-game. People have been asking for this car to put in this game long before Forza Motorsport 6 hits stores and several months later, here we are, a new Caddy that is a sure favorite when they first drive it. So, what's it all about this new favorite Cadillac?
The all-new Cadillac CTS-V, based on the third-generation CTS, is the most powerful Cadillac ever made, courtesy of its supercharged 6.2L V8 engine sourced from the Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06, but it produces 640HP of power and 630lb-ft of torque while mated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, capable of going 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of over 200mph.
Apart from its powerful engine fitted for a Cadillac, the new CTS-V features track-honed dynamics, a more rigid structure for better body motion control, a more functional design, and a performance-focused cabin.
The new CTS-V represents the pinnacle of Cadillac's V-Series and with this model, it combines the comfort and subtlety of a luxury premium saloon with the thrill and track-honed dynamics of a sportscar, all in one dynamic package car enthusiasts wanting for more.
There's no need to be extremely jelly right now because fans finally got the Cadillac they've been longing to have since the day FM6 was launched. As the most powerful Cadillac ever made, there are some key points regarding this four-door equivalent of the Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 because even if it has the same engine, it produces 10HP less than the Z06 and because this is a four-door saloon, it's heavier as well. When compared to the likes of the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, its speed is the main reason why Cadillac made this car but in terms of handling, it's anyone's guess. The M5 is a balanced ride that feels so easy to drive. The E63 AMG S with 4MATIC feels a bit mild but menacing. For the new CTS-V though, despite its power advantage, its handling can be a bit tricky to hold on and it's kinda clear why the Americans made their high-powered cars like these too dynamic for professionals to let loose. In fact, I don't understand why until I go to Laguna Seca to prove my point.
A few moments ago, I once drove both the Dodge Charger Hellcat and the Tesla Model S around the track and to my amazement, the electric saloon blew the 707-horsepower beast out in the open with a 1:48.430 lap time, a second quicker compared to the all-powerful Hellcat. I mean hey, you remember back in the American Top Gear when this CTS-V lapped around a certain track quicker than the two, right? Since the new CTS-V picks the Charger Hellcat and Tesla Model S as prime targets in terms of track-honed capabilities, let's put the theory to the test by beating my personal best set in the zero-emission Tesla saloon, shall we?
The lap time I set on this car? 1:47.796. Almost a second quicker than the Tesla Model S I drove around the track a few moments ago. A close shave but it's a fair share for the new Cadillac CTS-V when compared to America's super saloons like the Tesla Model S and the Dodge Charger Hellcat. I mean, isn't that why the CTS-V won the tug-of-war against the Hellcat, despite the Hellcat has more torque and more power than the CTS-V? Don't ask how but whatever it is, the CTS-V is the track-capable super saloon compared to the other two, although less comparable against the Germans in terms of dynamics too complicated for the novices to understand.
Like I said, it's about time this game featured a new Cadillac, complete with the new Cadillac logo, that should have been put in the first place, and although a challenge to drive compared to the M5 and E63 S 4MATIC, the new CTS-V is going to be a sure-favorite Cadillac among fans everywhere. Whatever means necessary, this new Caddy will do its best to please its fans who've been begging to have a new Caddy to put some smiles.

Cadillac ATS-V range and 3rd Gen. CTS-V
Cadillac's high-performance V-Series is back in action and now, there are different kinds of V models to choose from such as the turbocharged ATS-V and the more powerful CTS-V saloon that will scare most of its European rivals with its bigger horsepower output on par with the others. But first, let's go a little less and talk more about the ATS-V.
The ATS-V offers two different kinds to choose from such as a saloon and a coupe, and whichever model you choose, you will be greeted by the V-Series' first-ever 3.6L Twin-Turbo V6 engine for traditionalists, a turbocharged engine is nothing more of a devil's advocate, but for some, it's just all plain too weak to hear how its turbocharged engine sounds like, something that reminded you of BMW's new M3 and M4. Be warned though, this is not your BMW M3 or M4 because that V6 engine that powers the ATS-V delivers 455HP of power and 603Nm of torque, Whether it's equipped with an enthusiast-friendly 6-speed manual gearbox or an oversized 8-speed automatic gearbox, the new ATS-V can go from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 185mph. That said, it's a checkmate to the BMW M3 and M4, that's for sure.
Yes, if the ATS-V is like a slaughterhouse, this all-new CTS-V is more of a public execution if you're not careful because with that Corvette Z06-derived 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine armed and deadly at the wrong directions, there's not telling how far its dynamics would like to kill you unless you are as heroic as your grandma flipping channels on TV until she founds something thrilling that will keep her hanging on like a rollercoaster ride.

That said, it's a checkmate to the BMW M3 and M4, that's for sure.
Even though this is a turbocharged mongrel, it still has a heart of a beast lurking in its prey and in terms of dynamics, things can get very lively because, with all of that clever suspension setup as well as Magnetic Ride Control and Performance Traction Management, there's no telling how good or great the ATS-V behaves, although you need to be as skillful as a veteran pilot to survive its gut-wrenching handling and when this car drags itself for some skid marks, approach with caution because this car can bite your neck off, seriously. This is definitely one heck of a sportscar you would want to correct its assessment from a gentlemen's club to a slaughterhouse.
2016 Cadillac CTS-V |
Yes, if the ATS-V is like a slaughterhouse, this all-new CTS-V is more of a public execution if you're not careful because with that Corvette Z06-derived 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine armed and deadly at the wrong directions, there's not telling how far its dynamics would like to kill you unless you are as heroic as your grandma flipping channels on TV until she founds something thrilling that will keep her hanging on like a rollercoaster ride.
Because this new CTS-V comes with the 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine sourced from the Z06, it produces 640 horsepower, 855Nm of torque, and a top speed of 200 mph. That said, this car feels like a wolf that can chew through any leash, and its handling will truly live on its own rules. With all that torque bursting out like wildfire, mastery is going to be essentially difficult unless you have to resort to your extreme tactics but if you managed to tame that beast, you're certainly going to love its naked dynamic character that has a sense of cannibalism in terms of tire-shredding, and quicker getaways if you get it right. Sure, it may come with some high-tech features including the Magnetic Ride Control and Performance Traction Management but what the CTS-V feels is like Bobby Flay on a stick. Delicious.
Should you buy one? The ATS-V starts from 60,465 Dollars for the saloon and 62,665 for the coupe while the CTS-V saloon starts at 83,995 Dollars so that sounds like much but with all that power, there's nothing to go wrong with Cadillac's new V-Series vehicles that can eat the Europeans for breakfast, lunch, and tea, even elevenses, a cup of tea, and a glass of milk...of magnesia. We're getting jealous to have one of these...

Third-generation Cadillac CTS
Several years ago, the Cadillac CTS is their entry level sport saloon that shaken the brand's rubbish image and when Richard Hammond tested it on the Top Gear TV series, the CTS is more than just a good American car, it's a good car for a stop and deserves to be in UK judging by the fact that it's sold in left-hand drive European markets. It used to be the top trump against the Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4, and the BMW 3-Series but because last year's ATS sports saloon took the spot, guess there's no room for the new CTS but instead of throwing it away...
Cadillac decided to keep it but only this time, they made it larger and slotted to compete against the BMW 5-Series, the Audi A6, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. That's right, the good American car that behaves like a European premium saloon in its class, now made even better but just how good it is? Cue the music as heard from Brainiac's I Can Do Science Me segment.
As Jeremy Clarkson told that Cadillacs are for pimps and pensioners, some people disagree because Cadillacs are kinda more like bad boy John Travolta. Cool at first but then seriously uncool and then...bang! Cool again! Think of it like...Pulp Fiction but that's just a different story for a different day.
It all started back in 1999 when General Motors try to save Cadillac from its demise, Cadillac initiated the brand's Art and Science design philosophy, which brings them back to their roots with cutting-edge design and high-end technology. The first car to apply such a thing is the CTS in 2002 and judging by its behavior, Cadillac's image of being a pensioner's car has been shaken off and then later, it's joined by the status symbol favorite, the Cadillac Escalade. These are just some of the reasons why Cadillac back to being the coolest.
Anyway, forget about the science lesson, onto the new model. Because Cadillac was so focused to make the CTS almost as European as its rivals, you wouldn't realize that they've used the Nurburgring as the basis to develop the new model and thanks to such progress, the new CTS tries to set standards to its midsize premium sedan class and with its Nurburgring lap time of 8:14.10, that's about as quicker than the old NSX, the old Cayman, or even the old Lexus IS-F! Unbelievable...
Judging by how it looks, the new model looks kinda similar to the smaller ATS and the apathetic XTS premium saloon and why apathetic? Because the XTS is just a Chevy Impala underneath and for such judgment, I think this new CTS could be all right. When you first drive the new model, you are kinda unhappy with it because sometimes first impressions are not so good but with a little practice and when you get used to it more, the new CTS can be the car worth living for. Sadly though, there are faults...
I once checked the interior of the new model and once again, the designers always adopting the whole Dead Space theme because on the dashboard, you can see those buttons that look like Isaac Clarke's helmet which makes changing the volume and temperature a bit more difficult and when you keep on tapping it...as dull as a gastropod. When you hold the button...meh, same thing. There's also a bigger problem as well because when I tried changing the speedo display, it's a bit too twitchy and this is a lot harder to manage than the XTS. I once checked the speedo of the ATS and the XTS and because they can be changed easily, I love the way Cadillac done to the speedos. Sadly on the CTS, that's a different story and unless you find a way, you'll be stuck in such a small display and you can't read it while on the road. My eyes are too small for this! This is much worse than electrifying weather reporter Sian Lloyd!

2014 Cadillac CTS |
Most American cars sometimes afraid of the corners and when they faced one, American cars will feel like stripping of their dignity and send home to their mommies. The CTS, like its previous incarnations, won't be like that because thanks to its Nurburgring-honed dynamics, handling a corner is okay. Much like what a very cute character would say that everything is okay. However, when you switch the traction control off, the CTS loves to show off its true nature and if you're much of a Brainiac, you could just shred some tires for the heck of it. Engine choices? Well, you can have a 2.0L Turbo engine or a 3.6L V6 engine on it but on the top-of-the-line Vsport version you'll get the 420HP 3.6L V6 Twin Turbo engine which produces the equivalent power of V8-powered sedans without all the drama. Normal models are fitted with a 6-speed automatic gearbox but the CTS Vsport, with the turbo V6 engine on it, is mated with an 8-speed gearbox.
Price? The new model starts at around US$45,100, less than the 5-Series but more than the A6, making the all new CTS one of the most competitively-priced premium saloon on the market today.
The verdict? Well, while the new CTS is a bit twitchy on the technological details as well as my personal experience on changing the car's speedo through the settings, it's still a good American car for a full stop. It still behaves to be almost European and it corners like a European car and overall, it still retains its coolness no matter where it takes you. Thanks to the CTS, Cadillac is no longer a car made for senior citizens but made for those who want a bit more bling and flash.
Available colors: Phantom Gray Metallic, Radiant Silver Metallic, Black Raven, Opulent Blue Metallic, Silver Coast Metallic, Red Obsession Tintcoat, Majestic Plum Metallic, White Diamond Tricoat, and Black Diamond Tricoat.

2014 Cadillac CTS signals a graduation
2014 Cadillac CTS |
Set for New York Auto Show reveal, the all-new third-generation CTS has now graduated from compact executive car to luxury mid-size executive car and now, it's all eyes against the 5-Series, the A6, the recently facelifted E-Class, XF, the Infiniti M (soon to be renamed as Q70) or the Lexus GS!
It has grown in dimensions, it now has a better looking design, new typical Caddy interior (where the dashboard kinda feels like Isaac Clarke's helmet), and best of all, new engine choices. You can either have a 2.0L turbo, a 3.6L V6, or a brand new 3.6L V6 turbo engine offered exclusively in the new Vsport model.
To be clear, if BMW has M-Sport and Lexus has F-Sport, Cadillac has Vsport. The new variant features an enhanced bodywork and some sporting credentials that you might expect on a normal Cadillac V-car.

Welcome Back: 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
Trust us on this...the CTS-V Coupe was bred for the Pirelli World Challenge |
When Eagles Dare |
If the sedan version of the CTS-V is made to compete against the E63 AMG and the BMW M5, then the CTS-V Coupe is made to compete against the BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe, and the Audi RS5.
It has the same features as the sedan version, a 556HP Eaton-supercharged 6.2L V8 engine, and dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control, but because this is a 2-door coupe version, it's lighter. All that power and all that torque is channeled either an available TREMEC® 6-speed manual shifter or Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic. As for cornering, the CTS-V Coupe does well thanks to its Nurburgring-tuned suspension with Magnetic Ride Control. Race-inspired Brembo disc brakes are equipped to deliver a powerful stopping power.
This coupe version of the CTS-V was now heavily involved in the 2011 Pirelli World Challenge series after Cadillac's four year absence and it was built by Pratt & Miller.

Welcome Back: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
James May's muscle car from the Top Gear USA Muscle Car Road Trip episode |
You see this is James May's actual car he drove on Top Gear's USA Muscle Car Road Trip episode. The car he found out he wasn't impressed and he started to make daldalan or moaning mile after mile after mile while Jeremy Clarkson's enjoying the ZR1 and Richard Hammond's getting decent while driving the Dodge Challenger SRT8 he bought because Chrysler can't lend him one due to bad taste for muscle cars. While James May plays something at the casino, Jezza and Hamster are making mischief around Reno, Nevada (and caused some heat to the cops). Sadly, I can't tell the entire story but if you have a DVD of Top Gear Season 12, you would probably know what that mean. However, I would go to the climax where James May's trial and error at the Bonneville Salt Flats beat the CTS-V's 160MPH record.
The Cadillac CTS-V may have been designated as an executive saloon car that competes against the BMW M5, Jaguar XFR, and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, but it has the heart of the Corvette, making it a 4-door all-American muscle car that feels like life is bigger in Texas. No wait, this car is not everything Texas, this is more of a Los Angeles kind of stuff. It lapped the Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 59 seconds, making it faster than the Aston Martin DBS or even the Porsche 911 GT3! This is the kind of car that will give Europe and Japan a run for its money, well kind of. For balanced handling, there was this Corvette-sourced Magnetic Ride Control system that digitally controls the suspension system within various situations like for instance; the mountain passes or circuit corners. That's the same thing I'd expect from the Holden HSV GTS (Vauxhall VXR8 GTS), which is one of my favorite Aussie muscles.
Thought I forgot about it? Nope because the Cadillac CTS-V sedan made its appearance on Top Gear Korea. Presenter Yeon Jang Hoon reviewed it and then it had a race against the outgoing BMW E60 M5 driven by The Stig. Due to the CTS-V's oversteering, The Stig and the BMW E60 M5 won the race. Despite that, I would still prefer the CTS-V rather than the old M5. Hey, since there was this brand new M5 on FM4, I wonder if this would be settled...
Never mind, but still, I'm glad I'm a big fan of James May anyway...

Cadillac CTS-V Coupe - Forza 3 Owner's View
If Best MOTORing is still alive, they would give the CTS-V Coupe a try at Tsukuba |
FINAL IMPRESSIONS: The inspirational archer was the inspiration from Cadillac to create an aggressive CTS-V Coupe packed with a supercharged V8 engine. With all that might, the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is made to be one of the world-class sports cars and by interest, it was featured on Forza Motorsport 3 via the World Class Car Pack since July 2010, although one month before the CTS-V Coupe goes on sale.
Considering it an alternative to the Cadillac CTS-V sedan, the CTS-V Coupe is highly a crucial weapon for Forza 3 owners because of its FR drivetrain and if they have time, they can make some mods and decors to bring out the CTS-V Coupe's full potential and glamour while showing it on online races, especially on a game of tag or Last Car Standing. The CTS-V Coupe is a fun to drive American sports car but it is critically hard to master. Oh well, a little practice goes a long long way.

CTS-V Coupe Commercial...
2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe |
Just before the Holy Grail of American Football, Super Bowl, hits this February 2011 (and yes, the Super Bowl has lots of unique commercials), Cadillac debuted a Super Bowl commercial for the new Cadillac CTS-V Coupe starring Laurence Fishburne.
An amazing approach that the CTS-V Coupe has an inspiration of an archer drawing his bone.
Pretty good to debut this good commercial before Super Bowl XLV!
The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is a work of art and most enthusiasts love the way the CTS-V Coupe behaves from real-life to video games (thanks to Forza Motorsport 3).
Guess that the luxury brand of General Motors is evolved from ordinary to EXTRAORDINARY

Cadillac CTS-V Wagon
2011 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon |
With the CTS-V comes with the Sedan and Coupe, there's a newcomer to the Cadillac CTS-V family, and it was based on the CTS Sport Wagon. A CTS-V Sport Wagon? Would that be even possible? This high-performance wagon isn't quite a possible strategy for General Motors, but I think this is more of a threat to the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate. With the E63 AMG Estate's power output is 518HP, then the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon's power is 556HP! Now this made-in-North-America high-performance sports tourer has something shared from its sedan and coupe variants to take out these Euro-born monsters.
The CTS-V carries the same features from the CTS-V sedan and coupe such as control arm front suspension, Multi-Link rear suspension, Brembo brakes, dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control, Bose 5.1 surround sound system, standard navigation system, and a choice of two transmission types; a 6-speed 6L90 automatic or a 6-speed Tremec TR-6060 manual. Most enthusiasts prefer the manual variant because the manual transmission is part of being a true sports car and this can also be applied on the CTS-V Wagon.
My thoughts about the CTS-V Wagon:
Is it fine to have a high performance wagon for me? I think this is awkward for me but who cares, this is a American high-performance wagon. This will promise to blow away the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate at the inch of its power output. This CTS-V Wagon is one angry fire-breathing sports wagon!
Will this be a hit? I can't tell...

Cadillac CTS Coupe
Since 2002, Cadillac launched the CTS to replace the Opel-sourced Catera sports sedan, and then in 2007, the CTS gained a full model change incorporating Cadillac's new design language from concepts to production cars. Last year, the CTS gained a new member, which is the CTS Sport Wagon targeted for those who had it with their European tourers. Today, a new sporty addition to the CTS range, from the sedan, the high-performance V, and the Sports Wagon, appeared that makes it a first of its kind since the Eldorado was eliminated a few years back.
Surprisingly, the new CTS Coupe is surely a prize fighter for Cadillac after General Motors reborn from last year's bankruptcy due to the Lehman Shock (a formal term for the world economic crisis), that is when General Motors is now focusing on the four surviving brands, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac. Now for the main aspect of the coupe version of the CTS, the design remains stale from the concept version as seen from the 2008 North American International Auto Show, except for the interior, which is somewhat out with the ordinary and in with the extraordinary. Judging from Cadillac's design philosophy, the CTS Coupe matches an aggressive stance and a keen sense of style, providing this luxury sports car an unmatchable finesse and judgmental personality that is truly a target among men with high I.Q.
Under the hood, the CTS Coupe is powered with the standard 3.6L LLT V6 engine that delivers a sportscar-class power of 304 horsepower with the torque output of 273 lb-ft. It also comes with the optional AWD drive train so you can experience more fun to drive anytime. To add fun to it, the new CTS Coupe comes with the sport suspension tuned for the punishing Nurburgring Nordschleife, to bring out the CTS Coupe's full potential in cornering tight spots, including mountain passes. What disappoints the CTS Coupe is the standard 6-speed automatic transmission, which makes this coupe somewhat sluggish to move further. However, for the Performance variant, an optional 6-speed manual transmission is available for those who are seeking some fun to drive experience. What makes the CTS Coupe special is the standard StabiliTrak for a safer feeling while cornering. No one says this CTS Coupe is not the kind of Cadillac you have expected from its European enemies.
The CTS-V Coupe
In addition to the CTS Coupe is the ultimate white-knuckle ride that is surely a huge threat to the Audi RS5 is the new CTS-V Coupe. The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is a field-upgrade version of the Cadillac CTS Coupe, and the V marque attached to this Cadillac coupe is the "V for victory" in the eyes of a true American car enthusiast. With the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine, Recaro seats, high-performance exhaust pipes, Nurburgring-tuned suspension, Brembo disk brakes, and a choice of a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, your I.Q. will sure be dropped from one to nothing if you are willing to be thrown to the excitement done by the new CTS-V Coupe. Despite the performance, I can assume that the CTS-V Coupe will not stand up against the newly launched Subaru WRX STi 4-door because of the Nurburgring lap time, but these two sports cars can become decent rivals in the eyes of a sports car aficionado.
My thoughts about the CTS Coupe:
There are so many reasons how this new CTS Coupe is now ready for action, it is because it will target the likes of the BMW 3-Series Coupe and the MB E-Class Coupe, it will bring out its striking beauty among Cadillac fanatics, and it with numerous options, this car would shine on the highway. If Top Gear Philippines place this car on the "Price This Car" segment, I would price it 5 million pesos for the base coupe and 8.5 Million for the CTS-V Coupe. The results can be obvious and in my honest opinions, both the CTS Coupe and the CTS-V Coupe are targeted by most celebrities, politicians, basketball players, and the rich kids trying to step up among the rest.

Cadillac CTS Mk.II
As a formidable foe to the BMW 3-Series, Lexus IS, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4, there is no surprise that the second-generation Cadillac CTS can outwit, outlast, outclass, and outclass any kind of luxury medium sedan at its core, even in a car enthusiasts' imagination.
With Cadillac's design flow inherited from the Cadillac Sixteen concept sedan, the second-generation CTS is somewhat more than meets the eye in terms of performance, quality, and packaging suitable for well-mannered adults. Besides its design, the CTS will come, not only in sedan, but also in sports wagon and coupe (coming soon), but for right now, let's focus first on the sedan and the wagon variant for a while. With the sedan variant boasts a lot of sportiness for adults, the sports wagon is some kind of machine that other station wagons never underestimate the power of the American-made station wagon. The CTS sedan combines the efforts of a sports car and a luxury car, while the CTS Sport Wagon provides spaciousness for everything, giving this station wagon premium quality adults would love to get.
Depending on the body style you choose, from the sporty sedan to the grand touring sports wagon variant, the Cadillac CTS is powered with either a 3.0-litre LFI V6 engine with over 274PS of power, or a 3.6-litre LLT V6 engine with almost 310PS of power. It also comes with an optional all-wheel drive, and a choice of two transmissions; a 6-speed 6L50/90 automatic transmission, or a 6-speed Aisin AY-6 manual transmission. Aside from these features the CTS stands safe for everyone, thanks to its StabiliTrak, daytime running lamps, ABS, disc brakes, tire pressure monitor system, and most optional for all General Motors cars: OnStar.
If the standard CTS looks boring or vanilla to feel at, consider this:
A high-performance version of the CTS, known as the CTS-V, is bound to be the perfect rival from the likes of the Audi S4, BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, and also the Jaguar XFR. With 6.2-litre V8 engine, delivering almost 570PS of power output, standard StabiliTrak system, power steering, limited slip differential, a choice of either automatic or manual transmission, a choice of five sleek colors, and loads of conveniences, the CTS-V stands everyone out and if you are successful, this could be the envy of your office mates, especially your last boss: your office boss!
IN OTHER WORDS:
With the coupe variant coming soon, what I like about the new CTS and the new CTS Sport Wagon is its conveniences engineered and designed to be almost a premium mid-size sedan for adults. Let's not forget the cunning CTS-V that brings seasoned sports car drivers a whole new level to the word: HOT WHEELS! It doesn't matter, while you turned your ordinary medium sedan in favor for the new CTS, you will never turn back to your old medium sedan again. Be warned.
