As the Forza Horizon 10th Anniversary celebration came to its bittersweet end, it's time to find out which of the Horizon hero cars is the ultimate Horizon Hero. Will it be the SRT Viper GTS? The Lamborghini Huracan? The Lamborghini Centenario? The McLaren Senna? Or the Mercedes-AMG Project One?
Five Horizon heroes are gathered at the Volcan Sprint and all they have to do is to set the fastest time, ultimately deciding once and for all who is the ultimate Horizon Hero. It's all or nothing now. It's do-or-die for these machines as they are giving this Forza Horizon 10th anniversary celebration the ideal sendoff I've envisioned.
Without further ado, let the battle commence. GO!
With their bravery tests done, here are the results;
Viper - 3m18.665s
Huracan - 3m08.155s
Centenario - 3m00.864s
Senna - 2m51.905s
One - 2m52.890s
So, after ten years of enjoying the Forza Horizon series since the first one up to now, this is the ultimate Horizon Hero. The McLaren Senna, the hero car of Forza Horizon 4, is the ultimate Horizon Hero.
FOREVER KING.
And that's a wrap! This is the end of the Forza Horizon 10th Anniversary celebration. The celebration has ended but our journey on Forza Horizon 5 continues because there will be more surprises in store, starting with tomorrow's Donut Media collaboration series update as well as December's holiday series update. There will be more to come this 2023 so stick around!
Our Forza Horizon 10th anniversary celebration continues with the showcasing of the next Horizon Hero, the hero car of Forza Horizon 3 known as the Lamborghini Centenario.
Launched on September 27, 2016 for the Xbox One console, Forza Horizon 3 lets players to be in charge of Horizon Australia as they decide on how to expand the festival across the Land Down Under, from the outback to Surfers' Paradise. As the festival expands, there will be more races to take on as well as Showcase Events to tackle. Aside from that, they can create or disband convoys, enjoy Skill Songs, create bucket list challenges, finding new barn finds, so on, so forth. For the first time in the Horizon series, players can customize and name their own avatar driver.
FH3 featured new types of vehicles to take advantage of the Australian wilderness such as off-road buggies, trophy trucks, and utes. There's even three-wheelers added to the mix. It featured weekly Forzathon challenger where players get a chance to score cool prizes, including new cars. The fun doesn't stop there because there were two expansion packs added to the gameplay experience such as Blizzard Mountain, where Forza players can experience icy conditions for the first time, as well as the Hot Wheels expansion, where players can experience Hot Wheels action while getting hooked with iconic Hot Wheels cars.
What is the Lamborghini Centenario, you may ask? Named in commemoration of Ferruccio Lamborghini's 100th birthday, this Aventador-based special machine demonstrates Lamborghini's innovative design and engineering competencies. It uses the same 6.5L V12 engine as the Aventador's, only now it produces 770PS of power, making it capable of going from 0-100kph in 2.8 seconds, .1 less than the normal Aventador, and onwards to 350kph. Because the car weighs 1,520kg, it has a weight-to-power ratio of just 1.97kg/hp. Shortly before the announcement of this car, all 20 coupes and 20 roadster variants are officially sold out, each costing 1.75 million euros plus tax.
Now that I had my word abou the Centenario, it's time to have a party like it's 2016 as the hero of FH3 prepares for a new challenge; enjoying the Mexican scenery against the best drivers in FH5. Let's see if this car still has the magic it possesses six years ago.
Still the boss, as expected.
With the Centenario kicking the Forza Horizon's 10th anniversary into high gear, next time, let's get to know the hero of Horizon UK, the McLaren Senna.
Behind closed doors, this Centenario is going to have the sweet spots it deserves as well as its looks just to rise for the occasion. Take a guess, folks. I'm sure the Centenario I'm working for is well-trimmed for a very special occasion. So, what's it going to be for the Centenario?
Right here...
Surprised? There is a main explanation to that. You see, both the Forza franchise and THE IDOLM@STER franchise were launched in 2005. Their latest offerings such as this, Forza Horizon 3, and THE IDOLM@STER Platinum Stars came out in the year 2016 and what better way to honor such installments is by decorating the FH3 star car into something Platinum Stars-inspired and here is the finishing result you see fit.
With the 765PRO ALLSTARS-inspired Centenario in place, there's one thing I should do with this special kind of Centenario I made it myself and for that, the Centenario is preparing for the ultimate challenge yet as it will take on the Goliath Circuit which covers all four routes from Byron Bay, Yarra Valley, the Outback, and Surfers Paradise. That's like the whole New South Wales, Act, and Victoria combined to create the ultimate festival event ever dared to take on.
A select number of cars can reach the maximum class and the Centenario is one of them. With the car set to the maximum class, a class only attainable for some of the cars upgraded to the max and to handle such power, you need some bravery to handle that kind of power and for a ultra fast car set in an ultra long circuit event, you need to man up to take on the ultimate challenge.
Sadly, my filming equipment can only take ten minutes of footage and for a track this big, it's impossible to film such unless you have a powerful vehicle that can eclipse the Goliath Circuit's near-impossible sub-10 minute mark. Even in max class, the Centenario is not one of them so I have a plan to make sure this footage goes smoothly enough to savor the occasion.
Without further ado, get ready to witness the birth of a star in the face of Goliath.
At last, a star is born and it happened right here in Horizon Australia!
So, I managed to conquer a mammoth of a circuit event but this is not the best time to rest in our laurels because even with the Goliath Circuit conquered, there's still plenty of leftovers to deal with from all corners of the Land Down Under. I maybe the star who dominated the Goliath Circuit but the journey is only the beginning because no matter how many events you conquered, there's still time and place to revisit some old events if you want to practice your skills when the opportunity arises.
Looks like I want to stay here just a little while longer because Australia is...kinda feels like home to me but which Australia?
Hold it. You thought I forgot about this one, do you? Man, since I got all soaked up with all that work in driving the best cars on the Land Down Under, I forgot about the chance to talk about the star car of Forza Horizon 3, although there are two cover cars shown but let's focus on one of the star attractions of this game, which is none other than the Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4.
So, what's it all about the Lamborghini Centenario and why did they name this car even though Lamborghini was founded almost five and a half decades ago? Well, they name this special car in commemoration of Ferruccio Lamborghini's 100th birthday when the founder was born in 1916. If Ferruccio was with us and celebrated his 100th birthday, this is the car he would let its tailpipes blow his candles awesomely.
Premiered at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, this Aventador-based special machine demonstrates Lamborghini's innovative design and engineering competencies.
With Lamborghini's commitment to "form follows function", the Centenario's design makes it one of the most aerodynamic hypercars ever made, and coupled with carbon fiber materials used on its bodywork, this car is a masterpiece that was made to be driven for the desired few. Shortly before the announcement of this car, all 20 coupes and 20 roadster variants are officially sold out, each costing 1.75 million euros plus tax.
It's hard to explain why the Centenario, just like the other special machine called the Veneno, got sold out quickly before unveiling it to the global audience at a major motor show. That remains a total mystery how a special machine got sold quickly before its world premiere but with Forza Horizon 3, that question holds no meaning because even though we never have the keys to the Centenario in real life, we still got the chance to drive it in the fantasy roads of the Land Down Under. Whether on the beach or the metropolis or the forests or the outback, every road is a story for the Centenario to tell, and how you live it up to the status of the Centenario being the star of the show is up to you.
Believe it or not, because I am so happy that I got my first dibs on Lamborghini's special machine, the Centenario, I even get the chance to see what is like to drive it in-game as I shall now demonstrate it with this clip I made. Roll the tape!
Well, I may have some slight mishaps while driving it but after having my first dibs with this car, it's fair to say that I am glad to have this kind of experience at hand.
The Centenario may be one of the latest examples of how cars like these sold out before launch but with a game like Forza Horizon 3, you are free to do whatever you like as long as this car is with you, no matter how good or bad you're going to do with it.
Besides, I have something special in store for the Centenario...
Behind closed doors, this Centenario is going to have the sweet spots it deserves as well as its looks just to rise for the occasion. Take a guess, folks. I'm sure the Centenario I'm working for is well-trimmed for a very special occasion. So, what's it going to be like for the Centenario? You'll find out really soon right after doing some more work around Down Under.
