BMW 7-Series G70

The previous 7-Series started BMW's big grille mess that has plagued every single lineup, causing speedo boys to doublethink about their affinity toward it. With the all-new G70 model, BMW's oras de peligro continues with its massive new grille that shows the new normal of BMW this is the alpha of the group.

Starting at 116,000 Euros plus additional costs, the all-new BMW 7-Series G70 continues BMW's worst nightmare for speedo boys because of its controversial styling that is worth the talk of the town.

Yes, the styling is definitely every speedo boy's worst nightmare because of the extra-large kidney grilles and the quad headlights plastered to it. When you see this one coming from your rear-view mirror, be ready because this nightmarish front face is about as scary as...the scary video you show to your kids.

Weaving from the nightmarish exterior design, the new 7-Series' interior is an elitist's delight. On the driver's side, you'll be greeted by the curved widescreen display panel that runs on BMW Operating System 8. With one side taking care of its instrumental cluster and the other side that controls the entire car from airconditioning, entertainment, and navigation, not to mention the artificial engine sounds programmed to it, it's all business behind the wheel. As for the passenger side, you can expect an "out on a limo" feeling when it comes with the Executive Lounge option, a 31.3-inch 8K BMW Theatre Screen with Amazon Fire TV, and a nifty touchscreen on the passenger door handles, making it a true business class at the business end. If you were a billionaire or a right-wing politician, this is the one for you.

In a move to upset speedo boys, all variants of the BMW 7-Series G70 come with xDrive permanent all-wheel-drive system, meaning this new model is bulkier to drive than the previous G11 model so don't expect much smoke and mirrors from below, but because this model is made to satisfy high rollers and right-wing politicians from the passenger seat, the all-wheel-drive system and the most sophisticated suspension and chassis setup allows the G70 7-Series to drive smoothly like the butter song if you catch my drift.

Because of the CLAR platform it runs underneath, the engine lineup has been electrified to comply with the new normal. The 750e PHEV runs on a 3.0L 6-cylinder turbocharged engine with an electric motor, producing 490PS of power and 1.0 l/100 km of fuel economy. The 740d, meanwhile, runs on a 3.0L 6-cylinder CRDi diesel engine with mild hybrid technology, producing 286PS of power and 6.1 l/100 km of fuel economy. And for the ultimate experience, there's the range-topping M760e powered by the same setup as the 750e but it's been boosted to produce 571PS of power and 800Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic, it's capable of a 0-100kph time of 4.3 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 250kph. The fuel economy is around 1.0 l/100 km.

For safety, the 7-Series G70 is packed with advanced driver-assist systems, including the ones from the Driving Assistant package, the Driving Assistant Plus, and the Parking Assistant Professional. Although it is capable of Level 2 autonomy, there will be new features that will make it Level 3 autonomy coming soon.

The BMW 7-Series G70, along with its electric i7, is a sign of things to come because you can expect nightmarish-looking larger grilles like this in the future. Despite its terrifying front grille that draws flak from speedo boys, its business-class comfort, electric drivetrain, and surprising tech are proof that the future's becoming real. When you see one in action, better get your word on it.

BMW i7

The first-ever BMW i7 is the flagship electric saloon made by BMW and it served as the frontrunner for the next-generation BMW 7-Series. Better be prepared when you see one because this would be the most controversial BMW ever made when it touches down the road to make a scene.

Priced at 135,900 Euros plus additional costs, the first-ever BMW i7 is going to be every Bimmer's worst nightmare because of its controversial styling that is worth debating, especially when they try to compare it to its main rival, the Mercedes EQS.

The styling is definitely every speedo boy's worst nightmare because of the extra-large kidney grilles and the quad headlights plastered to it. When you see this one coming from your rear-view mirror, be ready because this nightmarish front face is about as scary as...the scary video you show to your kids. It doesn't really bark but it really bites you hard like a shadow sneak attack. Looking away from its front face, the side, and rear view are rather dramatic indeed so there's something emotional about the i7.

Swerving from its nightmarish front face, the i7's interior is business class for the elitists.

As for the passenger side, you can expect an "out on a limo" feeling when the i7 comes with the Executive Lounge option, a 31.3-inch 8K BMW Theatre Screen with Amazon Fire TV, and a nifty touchscreen on the passenger door handles, making it a true business class at the business end. If you were a billionaire or a right-wing politician, this is the one for you.

Running on the new CLAR platform and xDrive all-wheel-drive system, the i7 feels as bulky as the Mercedes EQS due to its electric powertrain that adds burden to its dynamics, making it a mild and menacing experience when you take it through the bends with the Sport Mode on. In terms of comfort, thanks to its electric drivetrain, it feels rather sociable and smooth like Queensland butter. The grandeur that is.

The only electric powertrain available at launch is the xDrive60 which comes with a 102kWh battery pack and two electric motors powering both wheels, generating a total of 544PS of power, 745Nm of torque, a 0-100kph time of 4.7 seconds, a top speed of 240kph, and up to 625km of driving range in one full charge. This is just the beginning because there will be more variants coming soon, including the M70 xDrive in the works.

For safety, the i7 is packed with advanced driver-assist systems, including the ones from the Driving Assistant package, the Driving Assistant Plus, and the Parking Assistant Professional. Although it is capable of Level 2 autonomy, there will be new features that will make it Level 3 autonomy coming soon.

The BMW i7 is a sign of things to come because you can expect nightmarish-looking larger grilles like this in the future. Despite its terrifying front grille that draws flak from speedo boys, its business-class comfort, electric drivetrain, and surprising tech are proof that the future's becoming real. Like it or not, it's out there.

BMW 7-Series (G11/G12) LCI and X7

The facelifted G11/G12 BMW 7-Series and the first-ever flagship SUV, the X7, forever rattled the roads of the world because of their new, massive kidney grille the size of the state of Texas and when you see them, expect their new faces to give you the similar phobia you get from holes. Trypophobia, of course, which made your skin crawl. Anyway, let's investigate the flagship Bimmers with Texas-sized grilles.

2020 BMW 7-Series

Beginning with the BMW 7-Series G11/G12, the latest minor change of BMW's flagship sedan dons the biggest kidney grille for a BMW saloon and judging by its mammoth-sized grille, it doesn't look pretty on everyone's rear view mirror when they see one but such swagger will really upset everyone on the road especially those who got out from it, bragging anyone that they had one of these. Massive grille aside, the revised exterior design keeps this flagship saloon as crispy as a glass of apple cider and that really means business.

2020 BMW 7-Series interior
2020 BMW 7-Series interior

Delivering an "out on a limo" feel when they get off, the interior of the new 7-Series LCI boasts a wide range of gadgets that will make life more convenient for both the driver and passenger, especially while going on a trip to the country club or a five star hotel. On the driver's side, there are so many gadgets to toy around such as the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant that answers most of your questions while driving. On the passenger side, there's also a lot of toy around especially the dual screens for your relaxing pleasure even while stuck on EDSA traffic. There's a lot of stuff toy around while getting snuggled to its comfortable, handcrafted seats.

2020 BMW 7-Series

The most powerful variant, the M760Li xDrive, comes with a massive 6.6L V12 TwinPower Turbo engine producing 585PS of power and 850Nm of torque and capable of reaching 305kph with the optional feature but those looking for some more miles should avoid the diesel range (because Europe) and go for the newer PHEV variants with the 745e with its 3.0L turbo engine mated to an electric motor and battery capable of 2.0L/100km combined fuel economy based on WLTP standards. No matter the variant, most models are fitted with a new 8-speed Steptronic gearbox that is now sportier, more comfortable, and more efficient.

The 7-Series is made solely for escorting high rollers, especially politicians, with its available xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive, Dynamic Stability Control, Integral Active Steering, Executive Drive Pro, and some chassis improvements but if you really want to go Ronin-like, expect some arm-breaking activity when you set to its sportiest settings because despite being a heavy tech-laden carriage, it behaves like a sporty grand tourer full stop and that's some jealously drivers salivate for. And because the 7-Series boasts a wide range of safety features fit for a flagship saloon, it's all about getting the job done unscathed.

The 7-Series LCI starts at 88,690 Euros.

2019 BMW X7
Now, let's examine the BMW X7, the flagship SUV and the most intimidating Bimmer ever made. Made to compete against the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class and the Audi Q7, this all-new model has the hulking presence, the hulking performance, and the demanding comfort fit for the world's big-shots who want a big SUV with a lot of swagger to pull.

2019 BMW X7

Drawing inspiration from its concept derivative, the intimidating exterior deserves no explanation because it's got the biggest kidney grille of any BMW ever made, bigger than the 7 LCI I talked about earlier, and when you see one of these on your rear-view mirror, you'd better watch yourselves or don't get shoved off by its intimidating facial gesture. It's like a sign of road rage coming up

2019 BMW X7 interior
Apart from the intimidating exterior that clearly sums this 84,300 Euro mammoth up, the X7's interior is all about form, functionality, and comfort in one clever package. On the driver's side, it's got a lot of gadgets to toy around such as gesture control, BMW Connected and ConnectedDrive, and more, not to mention the addition of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant which is like your Amazon Alexa for your BMW, whatever that means.

The X7 is the first seven-seater BMW SUV offered but not the first because the 2-Series Gran Tourer introduced us seven-seater capacity. Anyway, as a seven-seater, there are some ups and downs to this because the upside is, since this is a seven-seater, it works as a family car full stop, but on the downside is, just like every seven-seater SUV, getting to the third row seat in the event the second-row seat's fully occupied by ISOFIX child seats is no easy task. Of course, BMW will offer you to split the second row seats into half but the situation remains the same. As a family car, it's too expensive and in such scenario, ruins your sweet spot but as a rich man's car, this is like a 7-Series in so many ways, unless your financier is riding on his scooter instead behind you or between the entourage.

2019 BMW X7
The X7 offers a wide range of petrol and diesel engines mated to the same 8-speed gearbox as the 7 but best to stay off the diesels unless you live in countries where diesels are acceptable such as the Philippines. The range-topper is the M50i with the 4.4L V8 TwinPower Turbo engine producing 530PS of power, 750Nm of torque, and a 0-100kph time of less than five seconds.

While unacceptable in today's Europe, the xDrive30d variant of the X7 promises about 171g/km of CO2 emissions and that's all I can say it.

Although being a Manhattan tanker-sized SUV, the X7 handles very much like the BMW 7-Series in so many ways courtesy of its xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive, Dynamic Stability Control, and others. With the optional off-road package, the X7 possess near Range Rover levels of getting through tarmac, gravel, snow, sand, and rocks, the near-ideal elephant on your room in case you're taking on the Hannibal.

Thanks to a wide range of safety features, especially the highly noticeable Driving Assistant Professional possessing near-autonomous driving technology, Emergency Stop Assistant, andParking Assistant Plus with Reversing Assistant, it feels like another day at the office for the X7 even when taking a trip back at the mansion.

So, there you are. If you are on the road seeing one of these on your rear view mirror, you'd better doublethink before dealing with these mammoth-grilled beasts from all sides. The 7-Series LCI and the first-ever X7 look intimidating because of their terrifying size of their kidney grilles but their level of luxuriousness brings swagger to a completely new level.

BMW 7-Series (G11/G12)

2016 BMW 7-Series

There has been no car in the world had generated much hype as the brand-new BMW 7-Series because for this brand new generation of everyone's favorite premium full-size saloon, the new model ushered in the new age of BMW and when I said new age, I mean apart from the chassis codes which is the first BMW to bear the G-codes, hence the chassis code is classified as G11 or G12.

2016 BMW 7-Series

First, let's talk about the design because while this is mostly the evolution of the signature BMW design, I find its new look to be not bad at all, although I find its front and back design to be somewhat a mess. The side view looks crisp but when you look at all sides, there's no telling how good or how bad this new model is but everyone will still accept it with mixed reactions because no matter how it looks, this is still the car worth the wait.

2016 BMW 7-Series interior

One of the biggest strengths of the new 7-Series is its interior. In the past, most BMW interiors are all uniform, they look the same regardless of which BMW you are on, and no matter which BMW you are on, you will still be greeted by their monotonous interiors. For the new model, the traditional BMW interior has been fully evolved from the ground up and there's more because there has been numerous features up for grabs such as the world's first gesture control system where your hand gestures take control of the newly updated iDrive system. Of course, it may take some time to master the gesture control because there are some few kinks that needs to be fixed.

On the back, passengers will be greeted with the host of features such as the incredible Panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof, Rear Executive Lounge Seating Package, rear entertainment system, and a detachable 7-inch Touch Command tablet that activates climate, music, communication, lighting, and more. Now, it's getting more personal than ever, I dare say?

2016 BMW 7-Series

Underneath the new 7-Series is BMW's first ever Carbon Core frame that is lighter, stiffer, and stronger than its predecessor, resulting to much better handling, fuel economy, ride, and much more. The use of sustainable materials upon making its unique space-age frame really makes this new model a class apart from its rivals for good. As for the choice of engines, the new 7-Series is available with a 3.0L 6-cylinder turbo petrol engine, a 5.0L V8 twin turbo engine, or a 3.0L 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine. All models are mated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. There's going to be a plug-in hybrid model for next year but we'll leave it out at a moment.

The range topping 750Li with the said motor produces 450PS of power and 650Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100kph in less than five seconds and top speed electronically limited to 250kph.

Because this is a high-tech premium saloon, there are some high-tech features fit for your driving pleasure on the new 7-Series including driver assistance system from BMW ConnectedDrive but the features that made the new 7-Series stand out is its BMW Laserlight derived from the BMW i8 and the coolest feature of all: the first-ever Remote Control Parking that can be operated via your car key.

2016 BMW 7-Series

The new BMW 7-Series starts at 81,900 up to 107,500 Euros, which sounds like a lot but less expensive than Mercedes' S-Class, making it a hard bargain for wealthy buyers, mostly business tycoons or potentia special agents from a certain organization. Anyway, looks like every car enthusiasts in the world are well and truly desperate to see one of these on the roads.

RIMS THAT SHINE BRIGHT IN THE DARK!

You've never seen a BMW 7-Series wearing that kind of rims. Of course, this is one heck of an insane idea. You would see its rims all rigged with some LED lighting. This weird kind of lighting brings the new meaning to the word "BLING BLING" and it goes "IN THE DARK LIKE A BOSS", you know what I'm saying?

Whoever did it must have meant it.
