- The Sy Siblings dominated the Forbes Top 10 Richest Filipinos in 2024 with a net worth of 13 billion USD. Enrique Razon Jr. is in 2nd with $11.1B net worth while former politician Manny Villar is in 3rd with $16.9B net worth. San Miguel boss Ramon Ang, who graced the cover of Forbes Asia's August 2024 issue, is in 4th place with a $3.8B net worth.

- The Court of Appeals released a freeze order on the bank accounts and assets of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. Quiboloy remains on the run while four other fellow wanted fugitives are still inside the KOJC compound.

- Russian President Vladimir Putin accuses Ukraine of "major provocation" with clashes reported in Russia's Kursk border region. A state of emergency has been declared in the Kursk region of Russia, as a rare cross-border attack by Ukrainian troops has continued for a second day.

- The Nilu 27 Concept was showcased. Designed by Sasha Selipanov, the Nilu27 Concept is powered by a 6.5L V12 natural aspiration engine producing 1070hp of power. Only 15 examples of this track-only vehicle will be built with a road car to follow soon.
