-  The Bataan oil spill remains "under control", according to the Philippine Coast Guard. Senator Francis Tolentino is investigating the oil spill that affected other areas.

- The Multinational Village Homeowners' Association of Parañaque is seeking help from Philippine President Bongbong Marcos after a fight broke out over the possible forced takeover.

- A fire broke out at parts of Carvajal, Binondo, Manila. 11 were reportedly killed but the causality remains unconfirmed. No one knows what caused the fire.

- Israeli confirmed the killing of the Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif in a July 13 airstrike in Gaza.

- The Southport, UK triple murder suspect was identified as Axel Rudakubana. He is charged with three counts of murder, 10 of attempted murder, and one count of possessing a bladed article and is remanded in youth custody. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a new "capability" to curb riots.

- Journalist Evan Gershkovich was freed following the biggest prisoner exchange between Russia and the West since the Cold War.

- The BBC defends its decision not to fire Huw Edwards despite knowing of his arrest over the most serious category of indecent images of children.

- The EA SPORTS WRC video game previews its Year 2 plans, including adding WRC 2024 season content.

- Mitsubishi Motors teases the Outlander PHEV's minor change coming this autumn.

- The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing minor change adds a new Precision Package.

- The seventh-generation Volkswagen Transporter was unveiled.

- A federal judge overturned a jury's $4.7 billion verdict in the class action lawsuit filed by "Sunday Ticket" subscribers against the NFL and granted judgment to the NFL.

- The IOC defended its decision to allow two female boxers to compete at the Paris Olympics despite an ongoing gender controversy, saying the pair faced "aggression" because of an arbitrary decision. "The IOC is saddened by the abuse that the two athletes are currently receiving," the IOC said in a statement. "Every person has the right to practice sport without discrimination." Algeria's Imane Khelif and Taiwan's Lin Yu-ting were disqualified by the IBA at the 2023 World Championships after failing an unspecified gender eligibility test. The IBA was stripped of its recognition by the IOC last year.

- Jojo Nones and Dode Cruz are suspended while the Sandro Mulach incident is pending investigation. Meanwhile, GMA news reporter Arnold Clavio encourages sexual abuse victims to "speak up" in the wake of the incident.

- Carmen Pateña, Asia's Ambassador of Songs, dies at 83.
