-  Senators are hoping to fulfill the decrease in PhilHealth contribution rates. The PBBM administration recommended a reduction in the contribution.

- Drug and smuggling charges against Congressman Pulong Duterte and others have been made public by former senator Sonny Trillanes. Trillanes said he will file again the plunder case against former president Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go in "times to come".

- Eight places of Cavite are placed under the State of Calamity due to the Bataan oil spill triggered by Typhoon Carina.

- America's support for the Philippines is assured, regardless of the results of the November 2024 presidential elections. The US also welcomed the agreement between the Philippines and China on the Ayungin Shoal row.

- Israel confirmed the death of a Hezbollah commander during a strike in Beirut. The Israeli military said Fuad Shukr was "eliminated" but local security sources deny this.

- The new boss of the US Secret Service apologizes for its failure to save Donald Trump from the would-be assassination attempt.

- Radical preacher Anjem Choudary was sentenced to life imprisonment for directing the banned group al-Muhajiroun.

- An arrest warrant has been issued for Katie Price after she failed to attend a court hearing relating to her bankruptcy.

- A strong geomagnetic storm is on track to interact with the Earth's magnetic field through the early morning hours of August 1st, triggering an aurora borealis similar to the one last May. The storm is classified G3 by the NOAA.

- Tesla recalls over 1.8M vehicles across the US due to a software failure to detect an unlatched bonnet.

- Recaro Automotive files for bankruptcy. The famed car seat maker filed for insolvency at the Esslingen District Court as a result of significant financial difficulties due to extreme price hikes and the loss of a major contract.

- Wheel manufacturer BBS filed for bankruptcy for the fifth time since last year. The company reportedly stopped paying salaries in May.
