F1 2024: Rolex Belgian Grand Prix

As the world's eyes are glued to the Paris Olympics, Formula 1 will crash through the Olympic party by wrapping up the first half of the season before the summer break with the Rolex Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. With so much action in sports, Formula 1 is bringing the heat to try to steal the spotlight. Will the Olympic fever cause an upset or will Formula 1 prove that it's the hottest ticket in town?

The Second Coming of Mercedes in Formula 1 continues with the 1-2 finish of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, respectively. The two Mercedes drivers took the top two spots on the podium, with McLaren's Oscar Piastri coming in third. Other finishers included Charles Leclerc, championship leader Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez, Fernando Alonso, and Esteban Ocon.

Zhou Guanyu was the only driver who didn't finish the race due to hydraulic problems with his car.

Sadly, hours after the race, Russell's victory in Belgium was stripped off due to driving a car that weighed less than the required weight, therefore Lewis Hamilton was named the winner with Piastri second and Leclerc in 3rd. Verstappen, who finished 4th, remains the leader of the season with 277 points.

The F1 '24 season will return to Zandvoort for the Heineken Dutch Grand Prix this August 25, 2024.
