- The suspect in the deadly Mindanao State University bombing in Marawi City was arrested, according to the AFP. Combined troops of the military's Task Force Marawi and the Marawi City Police captured Jafar Gamo Sultan alias "Jaf/Kurot", who the military said is an accomplice in the Dec. 3 explosion at the Dimaporo Gymnasium of MSU which killed four people and injured 72 others.
- According to PHIVOLCS, the alert level at Mayon Volcano is now at Level 2.
- Donald Trump testifies again at his ongoing fraud case in court.
- Federal prosecutors filed new tax charges against US President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden. The 56-page indictment alleges the president's son and millions of dollars from foreign entities from China and Ukraine.
- The United Nations said that aid operations in southern Gaza can no longer be 'called by that name'. The UN's head of humanitarian affairs, Martin Griffiths, said Israel's military offensive meant there were no safe spaces left for aid agencies in southern Gaza.

- TAPE Inc. appealed on the Class 41 trademark dismissed by the IPO, according to Tito Sotto. Class 41 refers to entertainment services not included in TAPE Inc.'s trademark application. In the record of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Eat Bulaga! trademark—contained in "Trademark Class 16, 18, 21, 25"—is registered property of Television and Production Exponents Incorporated or TAPE.
