Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Special 2

The end of the first part of the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special saw Donna accidentally spilled coffee at the controls of the newly revamped TARDIS, causing it to go haywire. What happens next?

The second part of the 60th-anniversary special trilogy sees The 14th Doctor and Donna get stranded in a deserted spaceship, dealing with a faceless enemy from within.

Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Special 2

HOLD IT! Ensure you have already watched the episode before coming back here for my quick review. Come back here when you have already watched it.

Stranded in a deserted spaceship with the TARDIS ran away due to its Hostile Action Displacement System, The 14th Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) are exploring the deserted spaceship, seeking answers.

As they venture deeper, they've learned that they're at the edge of the universe. After their shocking discovery, they venture even further around the deserted spaceship, when suddenly, The Doctor and Donna they knew...are not them. They're carbon copies known as Not-Things and with the real duo getting cornered by their shape-shifting clones, they're getting away from them.

Still being hunted by the Not-Things, The Doctor and Donna revealed the truth about the deserted spaceship. It was revealed that the captain of the ship that was orbiting around the gravity field committed suicide a long time ago so the Not-Things wouldn't know, and the series of cryptic names mentioned turns out it's a countdown for the ship's self-destruct sequence.

Racing against the Not-Things trying to stop the bomb from exploding the ship, it wouldn't take long until the TARDIS returns and The Doctor makes a run for it until he gets caught in a choice between the two Donnas. He picked the wrong Donna and the real Donna Noble is getting caught in the blast. Thankfully, The Doctor ejected the fake Donna from the TARDIS and saved the real her.

As they return home, The Doctor and Donna encounter her grandfather Wilfred Mott (played by the late Bernard Cribbins) but their little reunion gets interrupted by a series of people fighting each other. Wilf warns...The End Is Near.

The second part of the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary special became a fear fest because of the doppelgangers who looked like The Doctor and Donna. The Not-Things are the most terrifying things to emerge in this trilogy, perhaps this is the main reason why the TARDIS ran away from them because of the Not-Things lurking around the deserted spaceship.

It was a close call for The Doctor and Donna dealing with their doppelgangers on a spaceship and hey, the ending of the second part saw Wilf making his last appearance on the show before the actor Cribbins' passing. It's great to see him one last time in the Whoniverse and we're surely going to miss him a lot. Thanks for the memories, Wilf.

The end is near as next week, The Doctor will battle against the most powerful enemy from a distant past; The Toymaker. Expect the finale to be the biggest sendoff to the DoctorDonna saga before welcoming the new Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa. For now, let's enjoy some bonus content...
