F1 2023: Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix

Singapore is the next stop for the F1 2023 season with the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix and with the recent scandal at Red Bull Racing following the FIA slapping a warning notice to its adviser Helmut Marko over his derogatory remark about Sergio Perez, looks like the championship-winning team is starting to lose its grip as well as Max Verstappen's current win streak of the season which is historic by F1 standards.

Focusing on the Singapore Grand Prix, the race kicked off with Yuki Tsunoda the first to be out of the race following an opening lap disaster in turn 14. With the two Ferrari drivers leading the race, it seems that Verstappen is struggling to keep up. Come Lap 20, Logan Sargeant bumps the wall, triggering the safety car in the process.

Halfway through the race, Carlos Sainz is leading the race while George Russell and Lando Norris are catching up. They're on a cat-and-mouse chase while Esteban Ocon's birthday celebration ends in shambles when his car breaks down on Lap 43.

As the climax draws near, the clash between Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, and the two Mercedes drivers is at its peak until the final lap saw George Russell crash through the wall.

With Verstappen's win streak of the season ended, Carlos Sainz won the Singapore Grand Prix followed by Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton.

After Singapore, Verstappen still leads with 374 points while Sergio Perez is in 2nd with 223 points and Lewis Hamilton is now in third with 180 points.

The next race is at Suzuka for the Lenovo Japanese Grand Prix this September 24.
