- The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcomed the appointment of Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. as the new Chief of Staff. Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro said that the appointment of Brawner was supported by the whole defense establishment.

- Former PH President Rodrigo Duterte and former PH VP Leni Robredo declined the invitation for this Monday's President Bongbong Marcos' second SONA.

- United Airlines will have direct US-Manila flights this October 29th.

- Two people were killed in a shooting in Auckland, hours before the city hosts the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Xbox Live Gold will be renamed as Xbox Game Pass Core starting September 14. Game Pass Core offers the same privileges as Xbox Live Gold such as online multiplayer but offers a library of downloadable games that will be updated every 2-3 times a year. Prices remain at 6.99 US dollars per month.

- Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network production workers launched their unionization effort.
