Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is the next stop for the F1 2023 season with the Pirelli Grand Prix du Canada as Max Verstappen seeks to continue his dominance in Montreal.
As the lights went out, the action in Montreal is underway with Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso showing their grit on the track until Lap 8 saw Logan Sargeant retire due to an urgent message from the crew to pull over. Five laps after Sargeant's voluntary exit, George Russell smashed his rear-right corner and front wing by the wall but returned to the track while the safety car has been deployed.
Lap 13 saw Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso get involved in a pit lane drama with the former emerging ahead in the pit lane and they remain second and third while the incident is under investigation. As the race restarted, the two world champions got locked in a heated battle while the currently leading Verstappen showed signs of fading grip.
Lap 55 saw George Russell out of the game due to excessive brake wear while Esteban Ocon's on a missing to hunt down Alex Albon for seventh place on Lap 57.
With 7 laps to go, the penalized Lando Norris crunches through Valtteri Bottas for ninth place and he's struggling to build a gap between them.

Max Verstappen's latest win in Canada marked the 100th win for the Red Bull Racing team. Alonso finished 2nd and Hamilton finished 3rd. Other finishers include Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez, Alex Albon, Esteban Ocon, and Lance Stroll.
The next race is at Spielberg for the Rolex Grosser Preis von Osterreich this July 2nd.
