The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series continues in World Wide Technology Raceway for the Enjoy Illinois 300 presented by TicketSmarter, and because of the red flags involved due to lightning and a series of unfortunate events, it became a long day for a NASCAR race day.
As the green flag waved, the long day is on. The first stage saw Tyler Reddick go for a slide in Turn 1 until the race got red-flagged due to lightning. As the race is back on, Kyle Busch wins Stage 1.
When Stage 2 begins, the #34 car got nudged by Ross Chastain and spun while Carson Hocevar's NASCAR debut got shredded by the wall. As Ryan Blaney wins Stage 2, the final stage is where I really wish this day will never end. Noah Gragson got involved in a crash that triggered another red flag followed by a spin by Christopher Bell, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s red-flagging crash to name a few.
