- Super Typhoon Betty entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 0200 hours local time. As of 0400 hours, Betty was located 1,320km east of Central Luzon, moving west-northwest at 25kph. It is expected to maintain its direction over the weekend before turning northwest and slowing down on Monday.

- The fire damage sustained by the iconic Manila Central Post Office building was valued at an estimated 300 million PhP, according to the GSIS.

- PH President Bongbong Marcos rejected a proposal to impose a total deployment ban to Kuwait after the Gulf state suspended the issuance of visas for new Filipino workers.

- The DENR aims to complete the land tilting in Baguio and Cordillera by 2026.
