My FH5 Log: Into The Badlands

Forza Horizon 5's Rally Adventure expansion is here and I got my first dibs on my newest FH5 expansion that brings rallying back to the festival.

As expected, the Rally Adventure starts with a pre-quest where the first part will put you behind the wheel of the all-new Ford F-150 Lightning as you slip through the traffic jam and drive your way towards the Horizon Badlands outpost. The second part will put you behind the wheel of the Ford Focus rally car, the one driven by the late Colin McRae at the 2001 World Rally Championship, through Crateres Secos. Once done, the Rally Adventure begins and you get to keep the Focus Rally Car.

Of course, before you decide which team will you choose, the familiar trio from the Horizon Mexico festival is pitting you through three different races just to familiarize yourself with rallying. First, the Focus Rally Car at the Devil's Pass, then the Hoonigan Scumbug at the Cascada Fuerte, and lastly, the Audi Sport Quattro S1 at the Reserva Del Carrizo in the middle of the stormy night.

Having completed the first three rally stages, I got the chance to pick which team to start with; the Horizon Raptors, the Apex Predators, and the Grit Reapers. The Raptors are focused on dirt-based races while the Predators are focused on asphalt racing and the Reapers are challenging drivers through various races set at nighttime and in severe weather conditions.

Looking for some challenges in this new FH5 adventure, I went for the Reapers. Don't ask why but it's a lot more fun trying out rally stages set in nighttime and in severe weather conditions, something reminded me of Storm Island back in FH2.

I've been rejoined by the Horizon Wilds Takeover prize cars that I've won previously as they're ready to showcase their true grit while tackling the most challenging rally tracks on a stormy night.

I should point out that each race has two ways to play; Horizon Rally and Horizon Race. The race stuff is the one you're familiar with but the rally stuff is where you'll be racing against the clock and setting the fastest time. It's like back in the original Forza Horizon game a decade ago so I'm no stranger to this.

Anyway, it's time to fulfill their deeds by tackling the rally segments of the Grit Reapers races. Let's roll the tapes!

Every time you complete a team challenge, you'll earn the rep needed to move to the next rank. As you rank up, another race comes up and as you complete some challenges, you'll earn prizes such as cars, wheelspins, outfits, and more.

Earn 3000 Rep and you can join another team if you're itching for more challenges. Reach Rank 9 and win 8 races and you'll unlock the Team Champion race where you'll battle the team boss in a duel. Win the duel and you'll win a prize car.

Defeat all three team bosses and you'll unlock the Horizon Badlands Goliath, and when you win the Badlands Goliath, you'll win the hero car of the expansion, the all-new Ford F-150 Lightning.

Anyway, that's all the time I had for a little introduction about the FH5 Rally Adventure expansion. Since I've used all of my time clearing the Grit Reapers rally events using my Horizon Wilds Takeover prize cars, looks like I'll be taking on the Raptors events and the Predators events next time.

There's so much to do at this new FH5 adventure but in the meantime, I'd better rest before making my next move. Until then, enjoy this new expansion any time you like.
