My FH5 Log: How to make your own events

You may have conquered the entire Horizon Mexico but you're feeling bored and have nothing to do in your spare time rather than gunning for weekly rewards and showing off to the rest of the world. Thankfully, Forza Horizon 5 allows players to create their own events, be it a race or a challenge alike.

If you're new to FH5 or if you need a quick refresher, this game allows players to create their own races or challenges and share them with the world.

Here are the basics:

  • To create a race, head to any racing event, then press the View button (X for those in the Automatic setting) and select Create Route. You can choose any car you want to drive and then start creating your own track.
  • To create a challenge, pause the game. Select Creative Hub with the LB/RB buttons, go to The Horizon Super7, and then select Create Challenge Card. You can select one of the eight Challenge Types such as Speed Cameras, Skill Score, Set Route, Danger Sign, Skill Route, Skill Mastery, Drift Zone, or Damage Control.
In creating a race:
  • Your car is like a paintbrush. You create as you move and it's the same thing that goes for creating a track. Drive in the direction of any way you like to create a layout. Whether you want to be a road track or a dirt track, help yourselves. However, if you made a mistake, you can press the Y button to rewind and do it again.
  • To put a checkpoint, you can press the View button on your controller. You can adjust the width of the checkpoint and move it if you like. If you're happy with this checkpoint, press A. If not, press B.
  • To check your route layout, press the Menu button and select view map. You can either restart or quit if you are unhappy with your creation.
  • You can add props to spice up your creations. To add props, press the Menu Button while in the middle of Create Route, then select Blueprint Builder. To open the Blueprint Builder Library, press the Menu Button on your controller. You can select whatever object you want to place.
  • Press the LB/RB to select a category, push the left analog stick to select an object, and press the A button.
  • Move the object by tilting the left stick. Press the RT/LT to move the object up or down, press the left and right buttons to rotate, up and down for pitch, LB/RB to roll, and press the right stick to reset an object. Press the A button to place an object.
  • For some precision, press the Menu Button for More Options. There, you can adjust the Step Rotation, Step Amount, Camera Mode, Camera Speed, and Attachment Nodes on some objects with an attachable node.
  • To clone an object, move the pointer toward the placed object and press the Y button to clone it. To delete an object, press the X button.
  • Keep in mind that there is a limit on placing objects and such limit can be determined on the upper right of the screen.
  • To make a sprint race, you can press the Menu button and select Place Finish Line. To make a circuit race, you have to drive your car around and then back to the starting line. It's as simple as that. When you finished making a track, you'll have to take it for a test run.
  • After testing the track, select Create New and give it a file name. Then, select Create Custom Event to choose your own regulations. It can be anything you want. You can turn it into a daytime, nighttime, sunny, or rainy race. You can even select how many Drivatars will you race as well. You can even give it a cool event name and then you're done!
  • For the more advanced creators, you can select Rules of Play to create advanced rules for your event.

In creating a challenge:

  • You can pick one of the eight challenges to create.
  • Challenges such as Speed Cameras, Danger Sign, and Drift Zone allow you to pick the target PR Stunt and set a target score as well as a time limit.
  • Challenges such as Skill Score and Skill Mastery allow you to set a target score as well as a time limit.
  • Challenges such as Set Route, Skill Route, and Damage Control allow you to pick a target destination and a time limit when done. Skill Route challenges involve setting a high score first before heading to the target destination. Damage Control challenges are about getting to the target destination without damaging the car. Too much damage and it's game over.
  • Just like races, you can set the time and weather of the challenges as well as place objects to make your challenge unique in every way. You can even give it a cool event name and then you're done!
Share codes:
  • If you want to know the Share Code of the newly-created race you've uploaded, go to Creative Hub and select EventLab. Select My Events, press LB/RB to select My Shared Events, and press the right stick for Event Information. If the Share Code is hidden, press the RT button.
  • For the newly-created challenges you've uploaded, go to The Horizon Super7 and go to Challenge Cards. Press LB/RB to select My Challenge Cards, press the Y button on your created challenges, and select View Share Code.

Here are a few examples of my creations. The first one is a hill climb set at Copper Canyon. The second one is a Custom Challenge Card that I made. It's where you will drive the WRX STi 4-door GVB to the target destination within 1 minute and 30 seconds. You'll start at the top of the Caldera. How will you get there in so little time? Ignore the GPS and brace for impact! Anyway, take a look at my examples. Hit a LIKE when you enjoyed them.

The Share Code is on the video's description. Feel free to use them in the game.

If you're feeling bored and got nothing to do after conquering the entire Horizon Mexico, the EventLab and the Horizon Super7's Create Challenge Card feature are here to help.
