- Philippine President Bongbong Marcos urged transport groups not to carry on with the week-long strike that will commence this March 6. Transport groups are protesting against the June 30th phaseout of traditional jeepneys.

- 10 Smart branches in Makati will face closure by the city government because the branches are operating without business permits and not paying taxes. This comes following the closure of Smart's main office in Makati.

- COMELEC has junked the disqualification case filed by Julieta Licup against Senator Raffy Tulfo since the 2022 elections. They do not see any "valid reason" to reverse the previous decision of its First Division regarding the petition.

- 26 people were killed when a passenger train and a freight train crashed near Larissa, Greece.

- Hong Kong ends its COVID-19 masking mandate today. According to Hong Kong leader John Lee, the mask mandate in the country was fully lifted.

- The US government banned the video app TikTok from government-issued phones, moments after the EU and Canada made their move.

- Bola Tinubu wins Nigeria's presidential election against Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. The 70-year-old politician won 36% of the votes, according to official results.

- The drone crash near Moscow was a failed attack, according to regional governor Andrei Vorobyov after the defense ministry reported the downing of two Ukrainian drones in southern Russia.

- Iran is investigating the poisoning of almost 700 schoolgirls with toxic gas since November, in what many believe is a deliberate attempt to force their schools to shut. No girls have died but dozens are suffering severe health problems.

- The late idol industry mogul Johnny Kitagawa's alleged abuse will be featured in a BBC documentary.
