- There have been impassioned calls for US police reforms during the funeral of Tyre Nichols, who was beaten to death by police officers. US Vice-President Kamala Harris urged Congress to pass a bill promoting police accountability.
- North Korea has reacted angrily to the most recent military drills between the US and South Korea, saying they have pushed the Peninsula's situation to an "extreme red line" and they're prepared to use military deterrence including nuclear weapons.
- Israel carried out airstrikes at the Gaza Strip after intercepting a rocket attack.
- Australia's central bank has announced that they will not feature the face of King Charles III in their new five-dollar bill and instead will feature an Indigenous design but the king is still expected to appear on coins.
- Former news journalist James Gordon Meek was arrested and charged for the transportation of child pornography. Meek, who worked as an investigative producer, resigned from his position at ABC News in April of last year the same day the FBI raided his home.
- Formula 1 officially unveiled the F1 Academy, a new all-female driver category launching in 2023. F1 Academy will feature 15 drivers from five teams racing in seven events including at least one F1 race weekend. Each event will have three races, totaling 21 across the season.
- Honda will launch an FCEV crossover this 2024.
- The Mercedes-Benz GLE range was given a minor change for the 2024 model year with revised looks, interior, tech, and electrified powertrains.
