The 2023 World Rally Championship has kicked off with a freezing season opener, the Rallye Monte-Carlo. With Toyota, Ford, and Hyundai the only carmakers battling in the Rally1 class, this season is going to be a three-way fight for the three carmakers while driver and team shifts made the 2023 season interesting.

From shakedown to the final day, Sebastien Ogier of Toyota Gazoo Racing drew the first blood of the 2023 season as he claimed his ninth Rallye Monte-Carlo win at the rate of 3:12:02.0, 18.8 seconds faster than Kalle Rovanpera, a fellow Toyota driver. Hyundai's Thierry Neuville finished 3rd.
The next event of the WRC 2023 will be the Rally Sweden this February 9-12.
