- A low-pressure area has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility, bringing rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Palawan, and parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

- Twitter is reversing its ban on political ads in the US.. The recent rollback will see "cause-based" and political ads return to the platform in the coming weeks.

- The US House of Representatives has been adjourned in disarray after three failed attempts to elect Republican Kevin McCarthy as speaker. The Californian didn't get the required 218 votes after 20 Republicans rebelled.

- The Russian defense ministry says that the unauthorized use of mobile phones by Russian troops allowed Ukraine to locate and destroy their temporary bases in Makiivka.

- Myanmar marked 75 years of independence with a military parade.

- Protests in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz against the arrest of Luis Camacho have reached their seventh day. 

- The NFL has announced that the match between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals will not resume this week after Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest.

- Don Williams, the last surviving singer of the Williams Brothers, dies at the age of 100.
