- Philippine President Bongbong Marcos leaves for his state visit to China.

- Russian military commanders have been strongly criticized over the deaths of dozens of soldiers in the Ukrainian rocket attack in the Donbas region. About 63 servicemen were killed, according to reports.

- Irish PM Leo Varadkar says mistakes have been made on all sides in the way Brexit was handled. Varadkar, who returned to power last month, said there was room for changes to be made.

- Professional racing driver and Hoonigan co-founder Ken Block dies at the age of 55. Block died in a snowmobile accident, as confirmed by Hoonigan. Ken Block got his shot at fame for his Gymkhana videos. His last performance was last year's Electrikhana video with the specially-made Audi Hoonitron.

- Thousands of Brazilians have lined up to pay respects to the late soccer legend Pele. Brazilian president Luis Inacio Lula da Silva is expected to attend Pele's wake before the funeral procession.

- Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin got collapsed on the field during a match against the Cincinnati Bengals and was hospitalized in critical condition, suspending the match between the two teams.

- Former Earth Wind and Fire drummer Fred White dies at the age of 67.

- Netflix cancels 1899 TV series after just one season.
