- The Department of Foreign Affairs will "vigilantly" monitor any developments in the West Philippine Sea, especially after a meeting between Philippine President Bongbong Marcos and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
- The first batch of over 21k metric tons of imported onions has arrived in the Philippines and it will be available in the markets this week, according to the Bureau of Plant Industry.
- Another gun-related violence occurred in the US state of California. Police say the suspect killed seven of his co-workers at two locations near Half Moon Bay, 50km south of San Francisco. The suspect was arrested.
- A court in Washington has convicted four members of a far-right militia group of seditious conspiracy for their part in the January 2021 Capitol Attack.
- Brazil and Argentina have announced plans to create a common currency to boost trade between the two Latin American countries. Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva blamed his predecessor Jair Bolsonaro for damaging bilateral relations.
- NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will meet Germany's defense minister shortly as Germany is coming under pressure to allow other countries to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine. Germany has so far hesitated to greenlight the tanks' export.
- Spotify is laying off roughly 600 employees following the music streaming service's restructuring involving consolidating Spotify's business operations under co-president Alex Norstrom, who most recently oversaw the company's business. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek revealed a major leadership reorganization earlier that triggered layoffs and exits.
- Singer Shoko Nakagawa goes on hiatus for surgery to remove her lump.
- Post-production workers of the comedy gag show Saturday Night Live have authorized a strike as contract negotiations stall.
