From December 25 to January 7, the Metro Manila Film Festival returns for the 2022 season and this year's theme is "Balik Saya sa MMFF 2022", meaning this year's film festival promises to bring back joy and excitement in movie cinemas across the Philippines in light of the eased restrictions on entertainment venues two years into the pandemic.

Deleter - Starring Nadine Lustre, McCoy De Leon, and Louise delos Reyes, this horror movie directed by Mikhail Red is about a woman facing trauma from watching violent videos she's removing in her time as a content moderator.
Family Matters - This family drama movie stars Noel Trinidad, Liza Lorena, Nonie Buencamino, Agot Isidro, Mylene Dizon, James Blanco, and JC Santos. It's about an aging father hit by a stroke and being taken care of by his family, leading them to conflicts.
Labyu with an Accent - Coco Martin and Jodi Sta. Maria became an odd couple in this rom-com movie presented by ABS-CBN Film Productions and directed by Rodel Nacianceno, which is Coco Martin's real name, of course.
Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told - The untold story of the 2015 Mamasapano Clash that killed 44 PNP SAF members will be finally told in this thought-provoking and controversial biopic directed by Lester Dimaranan.
My Father, Myself - Starring Jake Cuenca, Dimples Romana, Sean De Guzman, and Tiffany Grey, this BL drama is about a young boy who falls in love with his foster father while his stepsister falls in love with him.

Nanahimik ang Gabi - A date night between a sugar baby and a corrupt police chief got interrupted by an intruder in this thriller movie that stars Ian Veneracion, Heaven Peralejo, and Mon Confiado.
Partners in Crime - Comedian/TV Presenter Vice Ganda returns to MMFF in this hilarious comedy movie which also stars Ivana Alawi. It's about an ex-couple who got involved in a crime.
