Darwin has been festooned with racing machines wearing indigenous designs for the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown leg of the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship. While the indigenous theme is a historical tribute pulled off by the teams, it serves as another challenge for the title frontrunner Shane Van Gisbergen as he tries to defend his championship title hopes by all means.

In the first race of the Darwin race weekend, Anton De Pasquale is named the winner while Will Davison finished 2nd and SVG finished 3rd. In the disaster-packed second race, meanwhile, Cam Waters outrun Davison and SVG for the win. And in the final race, Chaz Mostert managed to survive his way to the very end on the road to victory lane, denying the likes of De Pasquale and Waters in the climax.
After Darwin, Shane van Gisbergen remains in the lead with 1581 points while Anton De Pasquale's 214 points behind SVG and Cameron Waters jumped to 3rd with 1293 points.
The next race is the NTI Townsville 500 on the 8th to 10th of July, 2022.
