The streets of Long Beach, California, come to life, yet again, with the sounds of IndyCar racing machines roaring through in the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, the epic conclusion of the Long Beach race weekends dominated by Formula Drift and IMSA alike.
As the green flag waved, the street racing action commences with drivers going all-out for the lead. In Lap 6, Dalton Kellett slammed through the wall and therefore out of the race. As the race resumes, the street race gets even more intense. However, Lap 34 saw trouble for Scott McLaughlin as he clipped the inside wall, and then, Lap 56 saw Colton Herta crash through the wall. In Lap 60, Simon Pagenaud got slipped into the garden. With 19 laps left another trouble in Long Beach occurred with Marcus Ericcson in the wall and then got hit by Scott Dixon.

After a thrilling street race in Long Beach, Josef Newgarden wins the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach while Romain Grosjean finished 2nd and Alex Palou finished 3rd.
The next race will be the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama on May 1st, 2022.
