My FH5 Log: Here come the TRD Pros

TRD Pro. If my memory serves me right, the TRD Pro grade is given to those North American Toyota offroaders that are worthy to tackle through the roughest terrains in North America. They have been given some unique offroad treatments underneath as well as stylish and tough visuals to differentiate them from the normal models. Here in FH5, there are two TRD Pro Toyota offroaders offered to tackle Mexico's toughest roads.

This is the aged but still stylish and tough 4RUNNER TRD Pro that I've obtained from the Storm Season Playlist. The current-generation Toyota 4Runner (formerly known as the Hilux Surf in Japan until the discontinuation of its predecessor) has been around for over a decade and this TRD Pro variant proves that this current 4RUNNER is still in the business of tackling the roughest roads in North America. Although similar to the typical 4RUNNER, the TRD Pro features Fox shocks paired with the TRD front springs, TRD roost shield, a new roof rack, and unique exterior and interior touches including a blacked-out TOYOTA grille at the front. The 4RUNNER TRD Pro is a legend on its own.

The Tundra TRD Pro, which is a DLC car obtainable for free for Car Pass owners, has similar offroad capabilities as the said car above as well. It features 2.5-inch FOX shocks, TRD-tuned springs, Rigid Industries LED fog lights, 18-inch BBS forged-aluminum, five-spoke satin black wheels wrapped in Michelin P275/65R18 all-terrain tires, and unique visual touches including the TOYOTA grille on the front. A stylish and tough full-size pickup indeed.

To prove just how capable these two TRD Pro Toyotas are, I gave these two a quick race against the competition in the roughest roads Horizon Mexico offers. Prepare yourselves because these races are going to be as rough as Hell on Wheels. Roll the tape.

What a rough way to treat these two un-Japanese Toyotas with the utmost respect but oh boy.

It's funny because despite Toyota adopting the Toyota Gazoo Racing branding worldwide, it seems that North America, especially the United States, is still sticking with the TRD branding. Although such reasons remain unknown for now, the TRD Pro variants on Toyota offroaders offered for the North American market, especially the 4RUNNER and the Tundra, are proof why we can't have nice things.

The Tundra wasn't really my type but the 4RUNNER gave so much misery for the Japanese car enthusiasts because...why did Toyota stop selling the Hilux Surf 13 years ago when its current model went on sale in the USA and other markets?

It's too late to answer that now but anyway, enjoy driving these two TRD Pro offroaders in Forza Horizon 5. You'll have a lot of questions and explanations when you give these two a leap of faith they will never forget.
