At long last, the latest installment of the Gran Turismo franchise has arrived exclusively for PS4 and PS5 consoles, and whichever PlayStation you're on, you are more than welcome to experience Gran Turismo's return to form, a perfect kick-off to 25 years of Gran Turismo.
So, what to start? The look and feel of the game, of course. Thanks to its dramatic visual changes, a new physics simulation model, and dynamic natural changes, GT7 never felt so alive on-screen, and thanks to ray-tracing provided for PS5 users, it feels so realistic to witness this game on a grander scale.
GT7 features over 400 cars from over 60 car brands across the globe. Whether it's a classic racer, a cult classic, a high-performance European exotic, a JDM street racer, or an American muscle car, this game has everything that caters to your needs. You can buy one in either Brand Central, Legendary Car Dealership, or the used car dealership, which made its return to this installment. They're almost all tuneable in order to give you an edge in races.
Want to make it truly yours? Go to GT Auto! Aside from the usual car maintenance inside and out offered, you can also kit them with aero parts, wheels, as well as custom liveries curated by you or the GT7 community.
Having enjoyed your new favorite vehicle, why not take a picture of it at either Scapes or during a post-race replay? It's a great way of showing off your favorite cars to the world.
Aside from the car roster, GT7 features a wide variety of racetracks spanning from 34 locations with 97 layouts; be it a world circuit, a city circuit, a GT original, or a dirt track. In addition, iconic GT original tracks such as Trial Mountain, Deep Forest Raceway, and High Speed Ring made a comeback in GT7. Of course, there will be more to come in future updates so stay tuned.
Rather than being just a racing game, GT7 features various modes to get yourself accommodated such as the License Center, which is strongly recommended for those who are starting the game for the first time, Missions featuring unique mechanics worthy of a challenge, and a rather peculiar Music Rally mini-game where players drive while listening to music.
Let's not forget multiplayer. Being a proper racing game for all; GT7 offers various ways to enjoy with other players such as the two-player split-screen race for some old-school fun with friends and family, Lobby if you want to race online for fun with the other players, and for serious players, there's Sport Mode. New to GT7 is Meeting Places, where online players gather and show off. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required for Online Multiplayer.
So, is GT7 the best Gran Turismo game yet? You'll have to try it first but still, the long-awaited arrival of GT7 on PS4 and PS5 kickstarts Gran Turismo's 25th anniversary this year. With gameplay back to its roots, larger than life visuals, and hopes for post-launch content coming soon, this is Gran Turismo nearly returned to its former glory and the most enjoyable racing game of the year. Welcome back to the world of Gran Turismo!
