- China joins Russia in opposing NATO expansion. The two superpowers issued a statement showcasing their agreement on a raft of issues during a visit by Russia's Vladimir Putin for the Beijing 2022 Olympics.
- Former US Vice President Mike Pence issues his strongest rebuttal of former president Donald Trump's claim over the 2020 presidential election results, saying his former boss was wrong to seek to stop Joe Biden's win.
- Iceland signals end to whaling within two years.
- Joe Rogan, the host of a controversial podcast show, issued an apology over his past use of racist language on his show. Several artists have left Spotify in protest at what they allege is Rogan's role in spreading COVID misinformation.
- GMA Network announced that Willie Revillame's contract with the network will expire on the 15th and his show Wowowin will air its last episode on the 11th.
