The zero-emission offroad race series, the Extreme E, returns for its second season and it kicked off in the Arabian desert for the Desert X Prix. With new and returning faces in store for this season, it's going to be a lot more exciting than last year.
Over the course of the qualifiers, the RXR, ACCIONA | Sainz, X44, Chip Ganassi Racing, and the newcomer McLaren XE team are the teams that made it to the finals. As the finals kicked off, the McLaren team's debut race got spoiled when it got involved in a horrifying crash that triggered the red flag. As the race resumes, the ACCIONA | Sainz team continues its dominance but as the race nears its climax, the RXR made a surprise overtake and won the season opener!

The RXR team of Ahlin-Kottulinsky and Kristofferson won the Desert X Prix while the ACCIONA | Sainz team finished 2nd and the X44 team finished 3rd.
The next race is the Island X Prix from the 7th to the 8th of May, 2022.
