September 11, 2021, marks the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the most tragic event that forever changed not just the United States of America but also the world. This is the event that delivered an eternal impact on the world's psyche and this is the very moment in history the world will never forget. As the world falls silent on this very day to remember those who've lost on that day, let's all slow things down to remember this world-changing moment in history.
It all began in one quiet day on September 11, 2001. It's just a typical day for the average people peacefully living in America when suddenly, numerous terrorists who are allegedly linked to the terrorist group Al Qaeda, led by Osama Bin Laden, hijacked four separate planes. The first two planes crashed through the World Trade Center in Manhattan, setting the twin buildings into flames, and dramatically collapsed moments later. Over 400 first responders and thousands of trapped office workers are killed, according to reports.
Moments after the collapse of the World Trade Center, the third hijacked plane departed from Washington's Dulles Airport crashed through the Pentagon, killing 125 people inside.
The fourth hijacked plane crashed somewhere near Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Whatever happened is a mystery until some say the passengers inside the fourth hijacked plane sacrificed themselves to foil the terrorist plot inside. The plane in question is a United Airlines Flight 93 and sources say that the terrorists who hijacked the fourth plane could have hit either the White House or the US Capitol.
According to reports, almost three thousand people died in total.
Days after the gruesome attacks, then-president George W. Bush launched the controversial War on Terror campaign in response to the September 11 attacks. This controversial campaign saw America battling against terrorist elements somewhere in the Middle East and their campaign sent Bin Laden hiding for a decade until, in May 2011, a group of US NAVY SEALs successfully neutralized Bin Laden.

It's been twenty years since the September 11 attacks. Just as they've thought that justice has already served for all those who lost on that tragic day, it feels like it's far from over, and with the recent developments in Afghanistan, it feels like the nightmares of the past are starting to haunt back and this "forever war" the world got into still rages on until true peace and justice is done.
Never Forget.
