The F1 2021 season revived the Dutch Grand Prix after three decades with Zandvoort as their recent battlefield. This return makes good news for Max Verstappen because his homegrown advantage gave him the chance to regain the championship standing from Lewis Hamilton.
Before the race started, Kimi Raikkonen is unable to participate in the Dutch Grand Prix because he was tested positive for the coronavirus. Therefore, reserve driver Robert Kubica is driving on his behalf.
Anyway, how did the race unfolded? Started at pole position, Max Verstappen has the upper hand while Lewis Hamilton is struggling to catch up. Halfway through the race, both title rivals made a pit stop, allowing Valtteri Bottas to charge through the lead. However, Bottas' lead was clamped by Verstappen, and the Dutch boy stayed ahead until the very end.
Nikita Mazepin and Yuki Tsunoda are eliminated in the race with the former faced mechanical failures and the latter involved in an accident.
