July 26, 2021 - DAY 4
The Artistic Gymnastics, Canoe Slalom, Cycling Mountain Bike, Diving, Shooting, Skateboarding, Swimming, Triathlon, and Weightlifting sports have medal events on the fourth day of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Beginning on the Artistic Gymnastics, a group of Russian Olympians won the Men's Team Final against Japan and China.
In the Canoe Slalom, Slovenian Benjamin Savsek defeated Lukas Rohan of the Czech Republic and Sideris Tasiadis of Germany to win the Gold Medal.
The Cycling Mountain Bike Men's Cross-country event saw Briton Thomas Pidcock won the Gold Medal against the likes of Switzerland's M. Flueckiger and Spain's David Valero Serrano.
On the Diving side, the Men's Synchronised 10m Platform Final saw Great Britain won the gold after trumping China and the ROC.
The Shooting events, meanwhile, saw two wins for Team USA with Amber English at the Skeet Women's Final and Vincent Hancock at the Skeet Men's Final.
In the Women's Street Final Skateboarding Event, Japan obtained a gold and bronze medal with Momiji Nishiya's the winner and Funa Nakayama the bronze medalist.
The Swimming events saw Margaret Macneil of Canada won the Women's 100m Butterfly Final while Adam Peaty of UK won the Men's 100m Breastroke Final, Ariane Titmus of Australia for the Women's 400m Freestyle Final, and Team USA for the Men's 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay Final.
Kristian Blummenfelt of Norway won the Men's Individual Triathlon event after eclipsing the likes of Alex Yee of UK and Hayden Wilde of New Zealand.
And lastly, on the Women's 555kg Group A weightlifting event, Hidilyn Diaz won the gold medal for the first time for Team Philippines.
In the medal count, host nation Japan now has eight gold medals while the US has 7 golds and China has 6.
