2021 marked the beginning of a new era for the FIA World Rallycross Championship or World RX for short, judging by the new logo and the implementation of the first-ever electric rallycross segment in addition to the lower level RX3, the Euro RX1, and the main event RX1. Let's focus only on the main event of the 2021 FIA World RX which began at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
In four qualifying rounds, Timm Hansen pulled an impressive performance as he racked up a total of 185 points, 22 points ahead of his brother Kevin. That allows Timmy to compete with the likes Szabo, Munnich, Karai, Rytoknen, and Scheider in the first semi-finals while his brother Kevin will compete against Kristofferson, Abbring, Oliver Bennett, Enzo Ide, and Niclas Gronholm in the second. In the semi-finals, the ones who made it to the finals are the Hansen brothers, Johan Kristofferson, Krisztian Szaro, Rene Munnich, and Kevin Abbring. As the finals began, this is where sibling rivalry at its core even if it's the beginning of the season.

In the end, Kevin Hansen drew first blood of the season as the winner of the World RX of Catalunya, beating the likes of his brother Timmy and Johan Kristofferson.
The next event is the World RX of Sweden from the 20th to the 22nd of August, 2021.
