The city of Townsville comes alive with the next race of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship, the NTI Townsville 500, amidst the current struggle against another wave of infections that swoop Australia, forcing big cities to reimpose lockdowns. With all of the Australian motorsports schedule reshuffled in the midst of the recent wave, the Supercars' Townsville campaign remains and with lack of audience aside, there's still more work that needs to be done for the best drivers.

In the first race of the event, with Nick Percat's drink bottle failure and Will Davison's costly fuel mishaps are the big fails to name a few, Shane Van Gisbergen continues his dominance this season after beating his teammate Jamie Whincup while Anton De Pasquale completes the podium with a third-place finish. In the last race of the event, meanwhile, SVG nailed his 50th career win by repeating his previous race's success that saw Whincup and De Pasquale finished 2nd and 3rd.
Post-Townsville, SVG now has a 245-point-lead over Whincup.
The next race will be the WD-40 Townsville SuperSprint this 17th to 18th of July, 2021.
