The FIA World Touring Car Cup returns for the 2021 season and the new season begins in, you guessed it, the world's most challenging track, the Nurburgring. Yes, it's Green Hell weekend, and hours before the monstrous 24-hour endurance race kicked off, the new WTCR season begins with a two-race event right here at the Green Hell.

In the first race, ALL-INKL.DE Munnich Motorsport's Tiago Monteiro drew the first blood with his first win of the season having managed to bring pole-sitter, Yvan Muller, down to the final straight. In the final race, Jean-Karl Vernay drove the new Elantra N TCR to its first win as he led Luca Engstler home for a 1-2 finish for Engstler Hyundai Liqui Moly Racing Team.
As the FIA WTCR's season opener ends, the Nurburgring action begins. Still, it's just the beginning of the new season so the action continues at Estoril from the 26th to the 27th of June, 2021.
