The F1 2021 season continues at Algarve for the Heineken Grande Premio de Portugal as the heated rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen continues. Can the gap between them widen further or less?
The 66-lap action at Algarve kicked off with Kimi Raikkonen clipped the back of his teammate Giovinazzi coming down the main straight during the second lap, causing his day at Portugal to end early. As the race resumes at Lap 7, Verstappen overtook Hamilton for second place but Hamilton fights back. Lap 15 saw Sergio Perez slipped past Lando Norris for 4th place while Lap 20 saw Hamilton surged through the lead from Valtteri Bottas. As the rivalry went to the pits several laps later, Lap 44 saw Esteban Ocon slipped through Carlos Sainz to take 7th place. As Sergio Perez pits at the end of Lap 51, Hamilton's back on the lead, and the rest is history.
