It's a big day for NASCAR as America's premier stock car racing franchise unveiled the Next Gen vehicles featuring improved exterior design, shorter greenhouse, new independent rear suspension, new transaxle, dual exhaust, rack and pinion steering, bolt-on clips, and larger brakes, among many others. These Next Gen stock cars were proven to generate quite a stir, the drivers got the chance to sample them...virtually.
The virtual Darlington Raceway is the next battleground of the second season of the eNASCAR Pro Invitational iRacing Series and the perfect virtual testbed for the Next Gen vehicles which are set to appear next year...sort of.
As the virtual green flag waved, the virtual debut of the Next Gen NASCAR vehicles kicked off...with a major accident because of a multi-car accident at the start of the race. As the race progresses after all the trouble at the start of the race, a lot of action happened for the drivers behind the virtual wheel of the Next Gen cars.
As the race nears its climax with just nine to go, trouble's brewing as multiple accidents occurred in the middle of Turns 1 and 2, triggering a late-race restart. As the race restarts, Erik Jones storms through a three-wide lead to the finish.

What do you think about the Next Gen vehicles? Speaking of which, iRacing users can now enjoy the Next Gen NASCAR vehicles anytime before the real working ones hitting the track on next year's NASCAR Cup Series.
The second season of the eNASCAR Pro Invitational iRacing Series continues at the virtual Circuit of the Americas on the 19th of May, 2021.
