The 2021 NTT IndyCar Series continues on the streets where it was originally the starting point of the modern era, St. Petersburg, Florida, for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
As the green flag waved, the street racing action at St. Petersburg has begun with Colton Herta leading the pack. As the race heats up, it's another bad day for NASCAR great Jimmie Johnson as he went out of track and crashed at Turn 13. As the race resumed, Takuma Sato hits James Hinchcliffe at Turn 1, leaving the latter with a flat tire after the collision. Later, Graham Rahal and Alexander Rossi got involved in a fender bender. As the climax draws near, another unlucky event for Jimmie Johnson as he got involved in the incident at Turn 2 on Lap 73. Seven laps later, Ed Jones is out.
