- The parents of Christine Dacera want medico-legal examiner sacked for his allegedly "irregular and inaccurate" preparation and submission of a report and death certificate.

- Tens of thousands of people took part of the annual Feast of the Black Nazarene despite the pandemic.

- Twitter permanently suspends US President Donald Trump's account citing risk of more violence. The decision came after a recent pair of tweets from the President, days after his supporters attacked the US Capitol. Allies and supporters condemned this as "attack on free speech".

- Google halted downloads of Parler, a social network popular for the right-wingers. It said the app hadn't done enough to remove posts inciting violence.

- Indonesia says it lost contact with the passenger jet shortly after taking off from Jakarta. The Boeing 737 in question dropped altitude by over 3,000m before disappearing from radars.

- 10 babies died in a hospital fire somewhere in India.

- 2 deaths were reported to Spain's worst snowstorm.

- Saudi Arabia and Qatar reopened their land border following the recent deal that dented the long-run dispute.
