2020 NASCAR Cup Series - Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500

The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series, held at Atlanta, is becoming a turning point for the sport because as the drivers about to begin racing, the boss of NASCAR urged the drivers and the crew for a brief moment of silence in memory of the brutal death of George Floyd, which sparked anti-racism protests and violent uprisings across America.

“Our country is in pain and people are justifiably angry, demanding to be heard. The black community and all people of color have suffered in our country, and it has taken far too long for us to hear their demands for change. Our sport must do better. Our country must do better.” NASCAR boss Steve Phelps said as the drivers pulled to a stop in front of the empty Atlanta Motor Speedway and shut their engines off to hear his words. Bubba Wallace was spotted wearing the "I Can't Breathe" T-shirt, in reference to what Floyd said when the officer responsible for his death pinned a knee on his neck for over eight minutes while he was handcuffed.

After a moment of silence, the boys are back racing at Atlanta for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series. As the green flag waved, the action begins with some intense fights for the lead in the first stage and a spin to top it off. As Martin Truex Jr. wins Stage 1, Stage 2 gets even more fierce as Truex continues to maintain lead while Michael McDowell spun off. As Truex nailed another stage win in Atlanta, the final moments in Atlanta are the real deal

In the end, Kevin Harvick wins the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series. His 51st career win and his third Atlanta win.
