- Severe Tropical Storm Tisoy (Kanmuri) weakens as it moved further away from the Philippines.
- Defend Job Philippines reiterated its call to the Duterte administration to save the jobs of the thousands of workers of ABS-CBN, in the wake of yesterday's speech blasting the Philippine TV giant saying he will "see to it that you're out."
- The Commission of Elections said it will shift focus to the May 2022 presidential elections.
- Back at the 2019 SEA Games, the Philippines still leads the medal tally with 52 medals out of 106 with Vietnam trailing with 23 gold medals out of 75 and Malaysia in 3rd place with 19 gold medals out of 45. Recently, the Philippines dominated obstacle course with four golds in the bag.
- The US House of Representatives passed a bipartisan bill that would apply sanctions against Chinese officials, triggering a furious response from Beijing. The Uighur Act of 2019 condemns Beijing’s “gross human rights violations” linked to the crackdown in the northwestern region of Xinjiang, where upwards of one million Uighurs and other mostly Muslim minorities are believed to be held in re-education camps.

- BBC will bring back Christmas Special to Top Gear this 29th of December. In the Christmas Special, Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness, and Andrew Flintoff are in Nepal driving second-hand city cars in the face of overpopulation. In addition, the new presenters of Top Gear America, coming this Spring 2020 to the MotorTrend app, are announced. Dax Shepard, Rob Corddry, and Jethro Bovingdon will host the revamped Top Gear America.
